The Henderson-Henderson County Chamber has partnered with the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Executives to offer mandatory Kentucky and federal labor law posters at a discounted rate through the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce.

Kentucky employers with one or more employees are required to post a variety of notices that must meet certain requirements and knowing which labor law posters to display can often be a time consuming and frustrating task for many employers.

Schneider to lead both Chamber, Northwest Kentucky Forward during merger talks
 

In a move that could foreshadow a merger of the two organizatio

ns, the board of the Northwest Kentucky Forward regional economic development group voted unanimously late Wednesday afternoon to hire Henderson Chamber of Commerce President Brad Schneider as its interim CEO.

 

Schneider will lead the day-to-day operations of both organizations starting next Tuesday under a memorandum of understanding between the two. He will serve as interim president and CEO of NWKF under a 120-day contract.

"We realize this is a bit unusual ..." chamber board Chairman Connie Grossman said in a statement. "But the merger has the potential to benefit this area for decades to come if it is done correctly, and that takes time and due diligence. This arrangement will provide us that time."

Glenn Shepard Seminar

Henderson Business Magazine

The new edition of the Henderson Business Magazine is now available in the Chamber display case on the first floor of the Citi-Center Building, the Chamber office located on the 3rd floor of the Citi-Center Building or at the Gleaner, 455 Klutey Park Drive in Henderson.

The Children's Advocacy Center invites you to please come out to the Ford Center in Evansville this Friday evening March 15 for our 3rd Annual 'Rock the Rink for Kids' with the Evansville IceMen!  Game time is 7:15pm and doors open at 6:00pm.  We will be in the front lobby with our signature 'Pinwheels for Prevention' available for a $1.00 donation.  Other prevention trinkets will be available at our table as well as brochures and bookmarks.   Order your tickets by phone at 812-463-6393 or by email at amorrow@evansvilleicemen.com.

The Wonder of Learning - The traveling exhibition recounts experience from infant-toddler centers, preschools and primary schools in the city of Reggio Emilia, Italy. The exhibit is open each week day from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. and evenings and weekends during performances at Henderson Community College Fine arts Center. Getting People to Do Stuff: Effective Leadership & Selling - Henderson Chamber members have been invited by the Warrick County Chamber of Commerce to a seminar on March 19. The presentation, titled Getting People to Do Stuff: Effective Leadership & Selling, will be given by communication consultant Michael Angelo Caruso from 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. at Showplace Cinema in Newburgh, 8099 Bell Oaks Dr. Caruso will spend the morning entertaining, teaching and helping  participants develop skills to succeed in their jobs. Runway Red - Matthew 25 AIDS Services plans to pack the Community Baptist Church auditorium on March 23, when the nonprofit organizations stages its sixth annual charity fashion show and lunch, Runway Red. Doors open at 11 a.m., with the event beginning at 11:30 a.m. Admission is $25 per person and tables of six may be reserved for $150. Click here for more information.  

 

Stitched Art- Ohio Valley Art League presents "Stitched Art" an exhibition of artwork by six area fiber artists is now open in the OVAL Gallery @ Bank Trust, 201 North Main St, Henderson, KY. Henderson Co. Cooperative Extension Service will conduct a Rain Garden Workshop at the Henderson Co. Cooperative Extension Expo Center on Monday, April 8, from 9 am 4 pm. What is a rain garden?  A rain garden is a man-made landscape feature designed to capture and reduce stormwater runoff. The workshop will include a half day of classroom instruction and the other half will be a hands-on demo and installation of a rain garden. The cost is $15.00 and includes lunch. Trashion Show - Studio 421 and The Downtown Henderson Partnership is sponsoring The First Inaugural Earth Day Trashion Show on April 27.   Studio 421 and the DHP need help underwriting the expense of this, so if you would like to be a sponsor, your business will be prominently displayed on literature and all advertising!  Or if you want to have fun yourself and advertise your business, sponsor your own designer!  Have one or more of your own employees enter a design and you can advertise their efforts! Hendo 100- The Community Foundation for Excellence will host a golf marathon on April 29th. It is open to 18 golf fanatics and their caddies. Each golfer will play 100 holes in one day. Henderson County High School Career and Technical Education students are holding a drawing to win a 2013 Jeep Wrangler, donated by Audubon Chrysler.
