The Henderson-Henderson County Chamber has partnered with the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Executives to offer mandatory Kentucky and federal labor law posters at a discounted rate through the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce. Kentucky employers with one or more employees are required to post a variety of notices that must meet certain requirements and knowing which labor law posters to display can often be a time consuming and frustrating task for many employers. Congratulations to our Ag Awards winners
Congratulations to Monty Parrish and Pem Pfisterer Clark, who were honored this morning at the Chamber's 2013 Agriculture Awards Breakfast at the Henderson Fine Arts Center. Parrish was named the 2013 Agriculturalist of the Year. Co-owner and operator of Parrish Farms, Parrish is known as an innovative and progressive farmer who also donates time and resources to many other community activities. Clark was give the 2013 Lifetime Achievement Award in Agriculture in recognition of her 24 years of service in the tobacco growing industry. Clark's influence and scope of work in advocating on behalf of tobacco farmers extended around the country and the world. The breakfast was also highlighted by a keynote address from Roger Thomas, executive director of the Governor's Office on Agriculture Policy.  The Agriculturist of the Year award was given to Monty Parrish, left, who was introduced his good friend, Bob Watson.  Pem Pfisterer Clark, right, was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award, which was presented by her husband Glenn Johnson. Community Announcements
The Wonder of Learning - The traveling exhibition recounts experience from infant-toddler centers, preschools and primary schools in the city of Reggio Emilia, Italy. The exhibit is open each week day from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. and evenings and weekends during performances at Henderson Community College Fine arts Center. Click here to learn more about the exhibit. Junior Achievement is seeking volunteers for a "JA in a Day" event for 6th grade classes at South Middle School. The volunteer will commit to teach two lessons throughout this one-day blitz event on March 26. The JA sessions will begin approximately at 8 a.m. and continue until approximately 1:30 p.m., with a small break for lunch. This is a great way to volunteer for Junior Achievement within a one-day format. JA will provide the volunteers with all of the lesson plans and materials needed for the hands-on activities.
