"Take a moment to see how far you have come. That is an important part of being strong enough to continue."  _Quinn

Quinn McDonald, certified creativity coach, writer and self-taught mixed media artist began writing at age six. As an author of two successful books plus an additional daily blog, she continues to share her thoughts, observations and inspirations for leading a creative life.  A degree in cross cultural studies originally placed her in the demanding corporate world where creative thinking was considered disruptive thinking and not a uniform to be worn by a cooperate employee. Her departure from this world in 2002, gave life to QuinnCreative supporting her philosophy that life meaning is made not found. QuinnCreative.com offers instruction in and exploration of professional development, creative growth, personal development, available workshops and retreats, introduces her books and encourages creative celebrations.

Her first book, Raw Art Journaling, invites creative play, experimentation and even making mistakes by combining raw art and writing. Her recent release: The Inner Hero Art Journal: Mixed Media Messages to Silence Your Inner Critic, addresses how to confront the inner critics and summon our inner heroes using writing exercises, color, techniques and listening to our hearts.

Quinn invites us to create an atmosphere of strength and courage and asks that we bring these tools: a piece of paper or journal and pen and promises that we will surprise ourselves with what we will discover.

Spring Three-day Workshop with Josh Goldberg
March 12,13, and 14, 2014

"Finding Your Mark: The Gestural Pleasures of Painting"

This is a workshop with a dual function. First, it will focus on understanding and using the brush in various ways to expand the participant's "vocabulary" of forms and expressions. By knowing what the brush can and cannot do, the participant will be able to renew the energy of their imagery, gesture, and composition with personal, symbolic, and metaphorical meaning. Second, participants will learn to critically look at one's work (self-critique), as well as how to present the work to best advantage, and the issue of titles.

Supply List:
acrylic paints, palette (something to mix paint on), water bucket, tarp, masking tape, large brushes, gel medium, spray bottle, scrapers. If working on paper, the paper must be gessoed and taped to a board prior to the workshop. Canvas must be gessoed as well prior to class. Please bring more than one or two sheets of paper and more than one canvas. If you wish to work large one can put two sheets or canvases together to give added scale.
