CASA Meeting
October 4, 2013

St. Francis in the Foothills United Methodist Church
4625 E. River Road
Tucson, AZ 85718
9:30-noon

Presenter: Tony Ford

Tony Ford

Tony Ford, founder of Maker House and co-founder and chief operating officer of Artfire.com, which helps artists sell more than $1 million per month globally, joins us to present "Rise of the Maker." Maker spaces are an emerging trend defined as collaborative environments where the combination of art, creativity, technology and business perfectly support solo entrepreneurs and creative professionals. Tony, with the support of Vanessa Ford, executive director, and many others, is spending a great deal of time creating this maker space within the walls of the Bates Mansion at 283 North Stone in downtown Tucson. It is being designed to include a coffee bar, meeting rooms, workshop space, house Artfire.com, offer a multitude of artful journeys, and in addition conduct health and wellness activities in the many courtyards surrounding the space. This is truly a gift to the Tucson community.

Tony has been recognized as a public speaker, stand-up comic, and award winning radio personality. He demonstrates his strengths in media and management by acting as Emerging Technology Expert for the Craft and Hobby Association, teaching seminars on social media, new media marketing, search marketing and other technology based business subjects. Always looking to the future it is his goal to find out what the business world can learn from the arts and how they can work collaboratively to change our community and our planet.
