Habitat News

Many of you have wondered about when the show at Habitat would come down. Marti and Carol met with Maureen Vosburgh and Michael McDonald on June 28 to discuss our continuing relationship with Habitat. We are happy to be able to announce that we are committed to continuing to provide art for the walls at Habitat's home office in Tucson for the coming year. Those of you who have work at Habitat now are still welcome to keep the work there until the end of October or you may remove your work at any time. A take down date will be announced later. We would encourage you to consider donating a piece of work to them if you feel it was created for the building and you would like it to stay there.

Now for the good news! Carol and her co-chair, Mary Bourret, have committed to doing two juried shows at Habitat - one from November, 2013, through March, 2014, and another from April, 2014, through September, 2014. If this arrangement meets expectations and both parties are pleased with the arrangement, we hope to continue with a fall show and a spring show indefinitely. We will jury the first show on November 1 at our meeting and hang it on November 2, 2013. We will jury the second show on April 4 at our meeting and hang it on April 5, 2014. There will be receptions for each show with invitation lists from Habitat and CASA and shared expenses for the receptions. We will continue to offer the 25% donation to Habitat for all sales.

Stay tuned for more information!
