This is my favorite time of year as we celebrate our graduating Seniors. It is truly a time of celebration. Today we will have our Baccalaureate ceremony at 6:00 p.m. Senior Walk-Out Thursday morning is truly one of the more emotional events of the graduation season. It is Olympia's informal good-bye to the graduating Class of 2016. On Thursday evening at 6 p.m., we will have our Senior Awards presentation.
Please be assured that even as the school year winds down, instruction remains a top priority. To the parents and guardians of graduating seniors, congratulations.

Understanding the chart: The chart illustrates the total number of monthly logins to the OHS ProgressBook system over nine months. The totals are based on single or 'unique' users (a tally of everyone that accessed the system at least one time per month). What we have seen this school year is that parents account for about 40% of total activity. With the fourth quarter of 2015-2016 coming to a close in three weeks, we encourage all of our parents to check the ProgressBook system for updates on their student's attendance, teacher messages, etc.

HOSA - Future Health Industry Professionals
During the weekend of April 16-17, Steph Manny and Alana Parkin were able to take six students to the HOSA State Leadership Conference held just 12 miles down the road at the Orlando World Center Marriott. This is the 3rd time HOSA has attended the state conference and Olympia High School did not disappoint. Augusta Akinwotu (12), Shirley Gandhi (11), Meeti Mehta (11), and Cristina Romany (11) all received the prestigious Barbara James Service Award. Augusta, Shirley & Cristina brought home a bronze medal for completing over 100 volunteer service hours in their community, while Meeti earned the gold medal for almost 300 volunteer services hours. Together these girls logged over 700 hours with most of them completed down the road at Health Central Hospital. HOSA State Leadership Conference(April 2016) Cameryn Coleman (11), Meeti Mehta (11), and Megan Galeski (10) also attended the conference to compete in medical-related events. Competition at the state level is incredibly tough and difficult to even place in the top 5. If a competitor earns 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, they automatically qualify for Nationals. Olympia HOSA has only qualified for Nationals once in the school's history, but over the weekend Meeti Mehta placed 3rd in Transcultural Healthcare sending Olympia to Nationals once again this summer! Steph Manny & I are incredibly proud of all of these girls! Go TITANS!!! ~ Alana Parkin
