Attention parents of current 6th graders: Required Vaccines for 7th grade |
ADDITIONAL immunization requirements for entry into 7th Grade:
- 1 dose meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV)
- 1 dose of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) [if five years have elapsed since last tetanus immunization]
The only exemptions to the school laws for immunizations are:
- medical reasons (requires a written statement from a physician)

If your child is exempt from immunizations, he or she may be removed from school during an outbreak.
To avoid exclusion from school, we MUST have a copy of an updated vaccine record that demonstrates that your child has received these two required immunizations. If you have not submitted a 6th grade physical exam form yet, then we do not have your child's most recent vaccine record. Physical exam forms (click here for form) & vaccine records can be mailed or faxed (610-667-4749) to the attention of the school nurse, Kathy Bromley, hand delivered, or scanned & emailed to bromlek@lmsd.org

Chorus 2013-2014
|
Hi Parents!
If your child is in chorus next year, for your planning purposes, all students will be asked to purchase a formal chorus shirt for $30. This money will be due in September. You can pay in cash and put it in an envelope with your child's name on the front OR write a check out to Welsh Valley Middle School. The dress shirt is white and will either say Welsh Valley Chorus or WV Advanced Chorus. These shirts make our students look uniform and appropriate. If a student already has one of these shirts, they will NOT have to purchase a shirt. Please purchase the shirt one size larger so they can wear it for the following years as well. For the November concert, students will be asked to wear black pants (no leggings) or an appropriate length skirt with black stocks or black tights. For the Spring, the students like to get creative and like to vote on their options. I will let you know about Spring attire by December. Thank you and what a great year! 10th Annual Deacon Thomas W. Anderson Memorial Run/Walk - Sat., 6/15, 8:30 am @ Harriton
|
The 10th Annual Deacon Thomas W. Anderson Memorial Run/walk will be held at Harriton High School on Saturday, 6/15 at 8:30 a.m. The event usually takes place on Lower Merion High School's track in Arnold Field, but that field is closed for the summer, so the run/walk will be on Harriton's track. Anderson, who passed away in 2002, was always passionate about track. After he retired as head coach of the LMHS boys' track team in the 1980s, he became a deacon for his church, Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Ardmore. Nearly 15 years before he died, Anderson orchestrated an annual run/walk as a fundraiser for Mt. Calvary. Entrants could either run or walk eight laps around the Lower Merion High School track. Not only did the event continue after his death, but it was renamed after him in 2003. Read more.
