October 2014

Dear Friends,

The first of our Fall 2014 Community Pit Bull Days was an incredible experience in Park Heights--even though it was the first time we were deluged with rain! New and seasoned volunteers alike found it extremely rewarding to bring critical services to dogs and their owners. Please join us in volunteering on October 18th in Herring Run Park. We need volunteers that day, plus volunteers to help distribute and post flyers in the neighborhood over the next few weeks.

Fall also brings the return of Pit Bulls on Parade. We hope we'll see you and your dog in costume on October 26th for the Halloween edition! It will be our 6th Annual National Pit Bull Awareness Day Parade.

Best,

B-More Dog Board

Volunteers Needed for
2014 B-More Dog Community Pit Bull Days
 Saturdays: October 18 & November 15

B-More Dog's Park Heights Community Pit Bull Day held on September 13th was a great success. We helped vaccinate 60 dogs at no charge to dogs of all breeds, provided leash and collar checks and replacements when needed, flea and tick treatment when needed, treats and enrichment toys, and signed up nine dogs for spay/neuter. Just check out our group of dedicated volunteers who were total troupers despite the rain!

Our two remaining 2014 Community Pit Bull Days to reach underserved neighborhoods in Baltimore City will be held:

  • Saturday, October 18th in Herring Run Park, and
  • Saturday, November 15th in Ellwood Park.

We ask volunteers for a time commitment from 10:30 am - 4:00 pm. It's a long day, but ask anyone who has ever volunteered before--it's incredibly fulfilling serving dog owners and their pets in need of the critical services we provide!

To sign up to volunteer at Herring Run or help distribute flyers over the next few weeks, please fill out our volunteer form and waiver, and we will follow up with you. Want to help, but can't make it on the Herring Run date? Let us know if you want to volunteer on November 15th in Elwood Park. We'd love to have you join us for both of these rewarding community outreach events!

Pit Bulls on Parade!

Join your fellow pit bull dog enthusiasts for a stroll around the Inner Harbor.  We'll meet at 11 AM by Rash Field, next to the Rusty Scupper restaurant and continue at a leisurely pace around the Power Plant and back. All well-behaved dogs (and people!) are welcome. You don't have to have a pit bull - or even a dog - to walk with us.

Sundays at 11 AM

October 26:  B-More Dog's 6th Annual National Pit Bull Awareness Day Parade & Halloween Edition

December 7: Winter Holiday Edition

If this is your first parade, please RSVP by email to: info@bmoredog.org
