Suggestion Box

Many of you have submitted suggestions into our suggestion box, and we wanted you to know that we have heard you.

 

Here are the suggestions that we have received.  As you can see many address the same issues.

 

TIME

Suggestions: 

"A Friday 5:30am class"

"Friday 5:30am class please"

"A Friday 7:00am class" 

"Sunday noon class to be moved back to 12:30pm for those going to church"

"More 8:30pm classes on Tuesday & Thursdays" 

"Add 6:30pm class on  Friday "

 

Response: 

As you can see, many are asking for additional classes.  We love to hear that and are so ready  to add classes, but until we can get at least 10 - 15 people per class at every class, we will hold off on adding extra classes.  We need to grow our studio more before we add classes.  As far as changing the noon class on Sunday to 12:30 or any class for that matter, we have to take many things into account.  Right now the majority of people preferring to keep the classes consistent  is larger than those wanting a change.  We are funny creatures.  We get used to a routine and tend to stick to what has been established.

 

TYPES OF CLASSES

Suggestions:  

"More Express Classes"

"More Express or 60 minute classes"

 

Response:  

We would like to add some Express classes during the week.  Any suggestions please?

 

HEAT

Suggestions:  

"TURN DOWN THE HEAT"

"Please Keep the Heat between 105-108.  Keep it at Bikram Standards."

"Put curtains inside the Studio  doors.  It would reduce drafts when people pass through the doors.  It will also help reduce heating costs."

 

Response:  

As you can see, some like it moderate and others find it never hot enough.

 

We all have preferences for the heat of the room.  We, as teachers, do everything we can to keep the heat between 105-110 degrees and the humidity between 40- 50%.  These are  the Bikram Standards.

 

TEACHERS

Suggestions:

"Today was the first out of several classes that I did not like the instructor.  The instructor could not recall how many sets we were on.   It was very disjointed."

 

Response: 

Thank you so much for the feedback on teachers.  We always strive to give the best class possible to students.  As students, you devote a lot of time and energy to your yoga practice, as we do as teachers.  We will take the information that you have given and try to perfect our dialogue and focus on giving the best and most focused class that we can  when we step onto the podium.  

 

It is important to note that if there is someone who is "pushing our buttons", we must be aware that everyone is a reflection of ourselves.  What we see in others that we like and appreciate we see in ourselves that we like and appreciate.  Conversely, what we see in others that we do not like or appreciate, we also do/be/are. 

 

FACILITY

Suggestions:

"Fix shower in women's bathroom.  The 3rd one is very slow water."

"If you have longer hair and you wash your hair in women's shower, please clean out the drain of all of your hair." 

 

Response:  

Again, we appreciate your feedback.  We will make the adjustments to the studio.  We try to keep a clean and well functioning facility as well as an aesthetically pleasing environment.

Oneness Blessings

Several of our Yogis have made the Oneness Blessing a regular part of their Saturday morning ritual.  If you are one of those and would like to contribute any feedback about your experience of the Oneness Blessing and how it has effected you and your life, please click here.  We would like to share some of these life changing experiences with others in our upcoming newsletters and at the Studio.

If you are unfamiliar with the Oneness Blessing.  It is a transfer of Divine energy.  It is performed only be certified Oneness Blessing Givers.  We offer this at PBY on Saturday mornings.  There is no cost. It is offered as a service to humanity.  It takes less than 10 minutes. The process is simple. You sit and meditate briefly to center yourself.  Then proceed to the back part of PBY where the Oneness Blessing Giver is seated.  Their hands will be placed briefly on your head.  When the Blessing Giver sits you are free to leave at your own pace.  Do not feel rushed.  You move at your own pace.

Personalized Posture Clinic

PBY is offering a posture clinic of sorts.  This clinic will be an open dialogue of asking questions and receiving personalized guidance on any posture of your choosing. All postures will be covered, and there will be a hands-on correction for all postures available to every attendee. There will be several teachers on hand to offer guidance and correction.  The room will be a bit cooler than during a normal class.  Sign up in the studio or online.

30Day Challenge: Check!

Our beloved Yogini, Sandy G. just completed her first 30 Day Challenge.  When asked if she lost weight she said no.  She did add that she had lost inches however.  Her body weight was redistributed.  This is a great reminder that muscle weighs 3 times as much as fat so although the scale may not reflect it your clothes will!  Sandy was also able to go deeper in many postures than ever before due to her daily commitment.  Proof that the body responds to continual forging.  Way to go sister!

"The 30 day challenge was just that for me, a true challenge, but I managed to complete it with the support of the PBY instructors who are all so wonderful & supportive and the fellow students. When I started at PBY I didn't know anyone but now I feel like I know everyone :) I wish I could tell you I lost a lot of weight but I didn't; however, I gained something much more valuable to me.  I learned to control my breathing which has strengthened my running; it's also allowed me to work smarter under pressure and of course to truly enjoy my yoga. I did lose a few inches here and there, but my best accomplishment has been to clear my mind and to live in the present."
