A PBY Sunrider Story Virginia and Ella Mae
When PBY started selling Sunrider it was less about making money than it was about sharing something that can really change your life through improved health. The challenge of this is that to really improve one's health from the inside out requires time. The American diet is riddled, absolutely riddled with impurities, additives, toxins, poisons, pesticides, engineered foods, hormones and who knows what else. Unless a person is vigilant about what they consume, the standard diet is heavily skewed in the favor of poor health. There are volumes that can be and have been written about this. Sunrider is a very simple and when compared to the alternatives for eating healthily, comparatively inexpensive. When we started selling Sunrider, a couple that practices at PBY, Deb and Mark M., mentioned that each of their parents had been eating Sunrider foods for close to 30 years. Here are their stories. Virginia, Deb's mom 79 years young Full-time Nutrition Consultant for Sprouts Health Food Stores Diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes at 16 Takes no prescription medication to treat her diabetes I began to interview Virginia and uncovered a spitfire soul. She knows her stuff, and she is here to share her knowledge. She is nothing short of a dynamo sent straight from God, Himself, to help people heal and to take care of the shrine that is their body. She starts with, "I'm a World War II babe, you know". When put that way it does rather get one's attention. My grandpa was in WWII and he passed on in very ill health several years back now. He shuffled when he walked, shook vigorously from the Parkinson's and took mega-doses of medications aimed at "helping him". Virginia's quest for health was instigated because at 16 she was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. She vowed not to live a life on medication, and she hasn't. She takes no medications for her diabetes. She recently broke her wrist. She had to have a surgery and was able to recover from that holistically without PT. Virginia says that in the 1970's, her late husband, who was 11 years older than she, would drive her every night to a school of sorts, with a woman from Wisconsin who was a master of herbs and vitamins. From that point on she never stopped learning. At 79 she is up and down the ladder at the tallest shelves at work all day with no ill effects. She has something of a cult following. She has helped to "cure" those folks that the doctors gave up on with her knowledge of nutrition and their willingness to adhere to her nutritional advice. In the 80's she began taking Sunrider NuPlus which she feels is the perfect food for any diabetic. "The energy NuPlus can give you is amazing and life giving", she maintains. She also drinks the Calli for its cleansing abilities. She has continued to eat Sunrider foods for all of these years, and knows firsthand how they can enrich and prolong your life. Recently, she has added Quinary also. "My food is the most important thing in my home" she says. She acknowledges that all Sunrider products are foods, not supplements, having the perfect balance of amino acids, fatty acids, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals, no isolates. "If you are looking for quality of life then it starts with nutrition. You have to give up something to have good food. Cheap food is the worst for you", all amazingly simple and true statements for this amazing woman who has been there and done that. She ends with, "I believe in what I do, because I know it's right". Ella Mae, Mark's Mom 75 years young Ella Mae was introduced to Sunrider foods in the 1980's by some friends who had health problems. She said she became a believer by researching the products and by watching her friends eat the foods and get better. After a while she too began to take and even sell Sunrider. She says, "If people could understand the Sunrider is a food and not a supplement...that it feeds all systems of the body ". She adds from experience, "It takes a while to see or feel a difference, a few months, depending on the state of your health prior to starting". "We took it (Calli, Quinary, and NuPlus) twice a day everyday for years. We had energy. We had a wonderful life. We even went to Hong Kong and Taiwan to see where the foods were grown. We also went to California where they were condensed and packaged", she continued. "It was a big part of our lives". After a while, like many of us, if not most of us, they fell away from this lifestyle. They took the Sunrider sparingly, at best. Then, Ella Mae's husband received news that he had a rare and incurable form of brain cancer. He opted not to have surgery, but rather to take Sunrider foods and try to shrink the tumor with avastin therapy and chemotherapy. The doctors gave him 4 months to live. From 2006 until 2008 he ate 3 to 4 NuPlus and Quinary every day. He lived for 2 years instead of 4 months. Ella Mae attributes that, in part, to the help of the Sunrider. She remembers, "He did our yard and rode his bike for one year and 2 months after his diagnosis. The Sunrider gave him amazing natural energy". Ella Mae now continues to take the Sunrider foods and uses other of their products, especially the Lifestream for digestive issues that otherwise would need to be treated with medication and the skin care line. She says, "Sunrider is nourishment, not a remedy. You have to take it everyday, it's food". It was a rare jewel to find a story like this to share with you, a gift, I believe. Thank you for sharing your stories with us Virginia and Ella Mae. As you all will no doubt see for yourself, from their photos, these women are stellar examples of what can be, if only we take care of ourselves and eat right, for a lifetime. Sunrider can help. |
