Dear Melrose Chamber of Commerce Member:

Winter is here and it's important that we all do our part to keep Melrose open for business, across all of our business districts, all season long.

Read on for some important information about snow removal, resources and more.
Snow Removal Responsibilities

Private businesses are required to clear all public sidewalks on their property of snow and ice.

Since we all want to keep Melrose's business districts accessible this winter, please do your part to shovel and sand/salt the sidewalks adjacent to your business. There is also a list of Melrose High School students who are available for hire to shovel this winter and you can read the details here.

Remember that we are also a community with an elderly population, families with young children, and people with disabilities. Unfortunately, as we saw on social media during the first snow of the season, if there is snow or ice in front of a business, people will likely place the blame on the business itself for not removing it.

Let's keep Melrose accessible for all of our collective clients, customers and patients, as well as the general community.
Please contact the Chamber if you have any questions or concerns, or if you need assistance with a snow removal issue.

Thank you for your continued participation in the Chamber and for all that you and your business do for Melrose and beyond!

Sincerely,

Melrose Chamber of Commerce
