Home for the Holidays is This Weekend!
The Melrose Chamber of Commerce and Home for the Holidays Signature Sponsor, Hallmark Health System, invite you to join us for Home for the Holidays this Friday, December 2nd and Saturday, December 3rd!

Businesses, churches, and schools will be offering food or hot beverages; raffles, discounts and sales; and a variety of activities throughout the weekend to help Melrose get into the holiday spirit. View the 2016 schedule here.

On Saturday, a fleet of four trolleys will provide free rides to carry residents between the various business districts in Melrose from 10:00am - 2:00pm. View the 2016 trolley map here. Thank you to our 2016 trolley sponsors:

Shop Local Gift Certificates are Good for Your Business!
In our continuing efforts to support local retail, restaurants and service businesses in Melrose, the Melrose Chamber of Commerce offers the Shop Melrose Gift Certificate Program. This is a wonderful way to encourage local spending in our community.

With the holiday season upon us, many people are purchasing these gift certificates and then many gift certificates are being redeemed.

The gift certificates come in $10 and $25 denominations and customers use them at a retailer, restaurant, or a business just like cash (they are actually checks). The company receiving the gift certificate should write in their business name and process it like a regular check and receives the full amount back.

There are no costs to the business accepting these gift certificates and the Chamber does not profit from this program. This program is intended to support our chamber members, not be a burden or seem mysterious. If you have any questions or feedback, please contact Lauren Grymek at the Chamber by emailor by phone 781-665-3033.

Shop Locally
The following is a message from Mayor Dolan:

Melrose may be one of the hottest real estate markets in the country, but it's still a place where you can walk into a store and the owner will greet you by name, where the staff at your favorite coffee place knows how you like your coffee, and where business owners go the extra mile for their customers.

One of the best things about Melrose is that it isn't just a place where people live, it's a place where people work and shop. Whether you need a birthday cake, a holiday outfit, or a new web design, you can get it here. And that's why it's important that you patronize local businesses, for large purchases and small.

As always, please contact us with questions or ideas. Thank you for your continued participation in the Melrose Chamber of Commerce and for all that you do to support the business and civic communities of Melrose throughout the year.

We wish you and yours a happy, healthy and joyful holiday season!

Lauren Grymek & Kim Broberg
