Transportation News
Rollins Rd. Update
Work can now begin on completing Rollins Road between Hainesville and IL 83. The contractor will spend this week installing the remaining sheet piling. Once that's installed, they will begin excavating down to the grades of the new road. That process should take about three weeks. At that point, the remaining work on the abutments can begin, followed by the new Rollins pavement under the bridge. Visit Rollinsroadgateway.com for updates

Civil War Days Event
The boom of cannons, the crack of rifles, the galloping of horse hooves welcomes you at the annual Civil War Days encampment, Saturday and Sunday, July 12 and 13, at Lakewood Forest Preserve in Wauconda. Wander the camps to see soldiers, civilians and tradesmen at work. Watch as union a nd confederate forces collide in battle and then visit the 1863 Summer Fair to meet President Lincoln and shop Civil War era vendors. Kids will love the crafts, games and a scavenger hunt.
Summer Fun at Independence Grove
Independence Grove in Libertyville is an outdoor recreation and educational area that offers concerts, boat rentals, biking, and a swim beach. Find out more about this Lake County Forest Preserve on their website.
