Community Forum Monday, March 11

 

Due to the recent winter weather, the community forum for our area was rescheduled to next Monday, March 11. Please plan to attend this meeting. We want to know what's important to you so our strategic plan represents the community's priorities. We are holding these community forums to engage in meaningful dialogue with residents and stakeholders. You can help shape important policy and budget decisions, and influence where the County will focus its resources.

Health Department Offers Pet Vaccination Clinic March 23 
 

A new season for low-cost pet vaccination clinics begins Saturday, March 23, as the Lake County Health Department/Community Health Center's Animal Care and Control Program holds the first clinic in Beach Park. Additional clinics will be offered in Mundelein, Lindenhurst and Vernon Hills in April.


Each clinic provides a convenient and affordable way for Lake County residents to keep pets up to date with their shots and rabies tags. Details about the locations may be found on the Health Department's Animal Care and Control web page.

IDOT Public Hearing on U.S. 45 from IL Rte. 132 to IL Rte. 173 
 

The purpose of the Public Hearing is to provide an overview of the planning process, present the planned improvements for the selected Millburn Bypass alternative including the likely future improvements to U.S. Route 45 north and south of the bypass area, and to provide an opportunity for public comment. 


Date/Time: Thursday, March 21, 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Location: Millburn West School, 640 Freedom Way, Lindenhurst


The Public Hearing will be an open house format, meaning interested persons can attend at any time between 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. Exhibits will be on display and an audio-visual presentation will be shown approximately every 15 minutes. IDOT and LCDOT representatives and project consultant team members will be available to answer questions regarding the project. For more information please visit www.route45project.com

In recent years, Lake County has seen an increase in chloride levels in streams, lakes, and ponds due to road salt run-off. Fire Department Official 100 Year Anniversary, March 13

The Antioch Fire Department will hold a ceremony to honor the 100 Year Anniversary of its creation on March 13, 2013 at Antioch Community High School starting 7:30 p.m. Please mark your calendars to participate in this once in a lifetime event.

 

St. Patrick's Day Parade & Corn Beef Luncheon, March 16
The St. Patrick's Day Parade begins at 12 p.m. on March 16. Line up for the parade generally begins at 10:30 a.m. at Peter J. Palombi School on 133 McKinley Avenue. A corn beef & cabbage dinner and entertainment are available at the VFW following the parade. Tickets are available at the door. 

 

Antioch's Easter Egg Hunt, March 30

Parade: 10:30 a.m.
Egg Hunt: 11 a.m.

Duck Race: 12 p.m.
Follow the parade to Williams Park Pavilion where the hunt will start once everyone arrives! Register at the Park's Office.

Little Hikers - Eggs
Has your preschooler outgrown Hikin' Tykes but would still like to explore nature? Little Hikers is designed for 5-7 year olds with an adult. Programs feature more nature-based outdoor exploration, weather permitting, and may include a story and craft. Learn about the diversity of eggs while exploring outdoors with your child. Sunday, March 24, 2 - 3:30 p.m., Ryerson Welcome Center
