Golden Apple winners announced
Congratulations Stefanie Borders and Tenisha Webb on your selection as 2013 Golden Apple Teaching Award winners for Excellence in Teaching. The awards were given at the 2013 Excellence in Education Celebration sponsored by the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and Northern Kentucky Education Council.

Matt Tarka claims fourth consecutive win in Kentucky Student Technology Leadership Program competition
Matt won first place in the competitive state Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP) Presenter Category competition on March 28 for the fourth consecutive year.
STLP, established in 1994, is a project-based learning program that empowers students in all grade levels to use technology to learn and achieve.

Holocaust survivor recounts experience to Turkey Foot Middle School students
Conrad Weiner said he was substitute teaching at a high school several years ago when a student, recognizing Weiner's European accent, asked him if he ever met Adolph Hitler.
Weiner, from Romania, told him no, but that he did spend four years in a concentration camp. "What were you concentrating on?" the student asked. He wasn't kidding.
"He was that ignorant," Weiner said. "He didn't know what the Holocaust was. I decided to start speaking after that." Weiner, 75, gave a presentation about his life Thursday titled "Never Again" to 350 eighth-grade students at Turkey Foot Middle School.
