We have news for you.
First, the classification period of the 2014 scholarship candidates has come to an end. Of 20 high school graduates who started their BECA.org journey six months ago, 16 finished.
Congratulations to all sixteen on their achievement.
Thanks to the local departments of the Ministry of Education, (Masaya and Diriomo), and to the Cristobal Rugama and Rafaela Herrera elementary schools for facilitating BECA's "brigadas." We consider them our partners in making a permanent difference.
Second, BECA Nicaragua is sticking their toes in the water once again in the pursuit of financial sustainability with the campaign "
30 Opportunities."
Our first campaign in 2013 -- Campaign 1000 -- wasn't a huge success. We know that the principle is not an easy one, but we are a confident group.
And, lastly, with respect to the BECA Nicaragua staff, in October we will have our yearly retreat where we discuss and evaluate suggested changes to our program for 2015.
We always try to do our best.
