It's a pleasure to share with you our eighth newsletter of 2014.
Recently, we made contact with more than 60 graduates of the BECA program in Nicaragua. We don't want to lose touch!
Some interesting stats:
- 52.4% have a job
- 15.9% have opted to pursue a university education
- 31.7% are not formally employed
Curiously, of the 31.7% who aren't working full-time, the majority are doing volunteer work or participating in different activities in their community. They are an excellent example for future generations of BECA scholars.
We want to congratulate one of our first graduates --
Rosa Hernández -- on her third anniversary working as a nurse at the Cruz Azul Hospital in Masaya. (Check out the video link on the right-hand side for a visit to Rosa's home circa 2009.)
All of us are proud of Rosa and happy for all of our graduates.
Thanks for continuing to pay attention to our activities in Nicaragua.
Sincerely,
