Dear BECA Amigo,
Here comes July!
Here in BECA Nicaragua we are happy for the 16 candidates who finished the first three months of the scholarship qualification process we call "Course One." This first part of Course One consists of three months of computer class.
One of our values in BECA is punctuality. During BECA Course One the punctuality of every candidate is evaluated and in this manner we identify the serious students.
But still three months still remain in the classification stage!
Now begins the social service component in a Nicaraguan elementary school. This stage is called the "BECA Brigade." The "brigadistas" will be full-time teacher's assistants for three months. Each will be assigned a teacher from first to third grade.
The BECA Brigade will finish at the end of September 2014.
We want to thank the Nicaraguan government authorities of the Ministry of Education -- Masaya and Diriomo-Granada branches -- for their support. Also we want to thank the two participating schools for opening their doors to us.
We wish the best to the remaining 16 scholarship candidates in the BECA Brigade.
