A new student recently asked a BECA Coordinator "What year did BECA students start writing blogs?"
Do you know?
Since 2008!
Yes, beginning five years ago each active student entering our program is strongly encouraged to keep a weekly blog.
Wow!
[And, by the way, the
BECA.org Nicaragua team writes a blog too.]
Most students are quite good at it. In the blogs we can learn more about our participants. For example, what they learned at school during the week, about their family, school, and community. At times they share their view of a particular world issue.
Students write about what is happening in the BECA.org program too.
For our English students it is a good way to practice their writing. [After all, they are future employees of a call center in Nicaragua.]
Let me say that they get excited when someone they do not know - like you - makes a small comment on your blog, even if it's just a quick greeting "Hello". [smile].
The directory of the student blogs is
here.
And while you're on the BECA website, the
latest BECA news is not far away.
