INTERNATIONAL DAY OF
PRAYER AND FASTING
MONDAY 6th APRIL
Go and Stand Before Me!

John 5:19-20
Jesus gave them this answer: “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. Yes, and he will show him even greater works than these, so that you will be amazed.
Just like Jesus Himself cannot do any ministry without the Father, we can’t do anything without Him! But He wants us to look at Him and observe what He is going to be doing at every event and with every young person we meet. If we do so, His promise is that He shows us His glory and He will show us even greater works which will amaze us!!
But how do we get to see how God is moving in our city, country and region among and through the youth? How do we get to see all this as staff and volunteers in the midst of our busy schedules? and months booked with events and programs? How do we become a role-model to teenagers who look at us, observe us, and imitate our actions rather than our teachings?
God’s answer is the same as it was to Elijah (1 Kings 19:11-31), He said “Go out and stand on the mount before the Lord”. We all can relate to how we go on through a week without a real time of one-on-one juicy, satisfying time with God! We grow tired and our ministries lack the fruit and the greater works God promises. To see what HE wants to show us, to see Him invading our events and amazing us we need to be still (Psalm 46:10) in order to hear His voice in “the sound of a low whisper”.
Let us encourage every one we know in ministry, as well as ourselves, as this month we take time in prayer and fasting, as a team, hearing God’s voice and seeing what He has in store for us.
Some questions:
- Did God “invade” and infuse an event you planned recently, unexpectedly, amazing you by changing the plan? are we giving Him enough margin to amaze us in His movement among the youth?
- How are you spending time in hearing God’s voice and knowing what is on His heart for the teenagers around you and in your nation?
- Think of practical ways to hear God’s voice as a team this month?
- Think of practical ways to encourage and teach your youth to hear God’s voice?
- Are there things God still wants to show us?
- What did Jesus show you recently? how do you respond to that? in what situation did He reveal His plan to you?
