      This group, led by Dr. Kathy McCallie, will focus on gaining a better understanding (economically, politically, and spiritually) about the dynamics of "wealth" and "poverty" internationally.  We will visit with workers in the Free Trade Zones created by CAFTA trade agreements, and with Fair Trade workers who are trying to build alternative systems.   We'll immerse ourselves in the lives and struggles of people struggling to live on less that $2 per day.  And through reflections on those interactions, we will attempt to better understand our own constructs of wealth/poverty/enough/sustainability, etc.

     While TCC music and art students work in 4 rural communities to introduce young people to the joy of making music and creating art, some non-musical types will be building a house.   They need some additional house-builders - NO SKILLS REQUIRED!

NURSING IN NICARAGUA:  A Northern Oklahoma College Service-Learning PartnerTrip

Wednesday, July 8 - Wednesday, July 15

      Student nurses will be learning about nursing in Nicaragua by serving in several poor communities.   They will shadow nurses in clinical settings, help out in under-served areas, and visit university nursing classes. There's room for 2-3 more nurses, students (NOC credit not included in price), or others interested in a health care profession.
