Amazing things are happening at the Chacraseca Medical Clinic! The new paint on the outside of the clinic building sets the stage for the changes inside.
Groups visiting Chacraseca have shown their talents and love by painting various murals on the clinic walls. There are new oscillating fans hanging! Where old, inoperable sinks once were, we have new, clean, shiny sinks in the patient exam rooms.

For 2 years we have been trying to partner with the Nicaraguan Ministry of Health (MINSA) to establish a small laboratory within the clinic. It has been very difficult to be able to diagnose many problems due to lack of a basic laboratory. We are so excited that this partnership has come to fruition - MINSA will be providing a lab tech to this small - but vital - laboratory. JustHope partners have provided the funds necessary to build the lab and purchase equipment and supplies. It is such a big step for the people of the community. They, too, are very excited to have the opportunity to remain in their community for more of their health care.
The dentist in the clinic has also received some much-needed dental equipment. He uses very old instruments (held together with duct tape) and is often without supplies. Through gifts from partners in Arizona and Tulsa, he is able to provide more and safer care to his patients.
If you would like to partner with the clinic in any capacity - we welcome your help. There are many "wishes". Read here for information about Medicos in Solidarity. Please contact Barbara Grogg, who is now coordinating the ongoing operation of the clinic.
