What Does Vocus Do?
Vocus is an online public relations and marketing software system that allows TSN to spread the word about our clients' news. The system can be used for a variety of functions, including a media contact and outlet database, press release distribution platform, news monitoring and analytics. At TSN we can use the features that best meet the needs of our clients, saving them the time and expense of their own system.
The main features that are used for our clients are the media database and press release distribution capabilities. The media database includes both outlets and individual contacts and contains over 500,000 different contacts! Not only does the database provide the contact information for these contacts but it provides a full profile that contains the subjects they cover, the best way to pitch to them, their background, links to recent articles they've written and access to their 20 most recent tweets. This is all great information when trying to decide the most appropriate journalists for a particular story which helps TSN establish a target audience, ensuring great coverage for our clients.
The press release platform goes hand in hand with the media database, allowing TSN to send our clients' press releases, or just a quick note, to the target audience with the click of a button. We have the ability to send email press releases as well as PRWeb releases which are similar to an online wire service and can be search engine optimized to get news directly to consumers.
