 THURSDAY Night is McTeacher Night!
It's time for our annual Family Fun McTeacher Night on Thursday, October 24, 4:30-7:30PM. We've got a great line up of teachers and staff that will be there! We hope you will join us for a night of school spirit & fundraising for DCES! The school with the highest percentage increase over last year will earn a bonus donation in ADDITION to the 15% of sales we will earn on ALL SALES ( drive thru & in store) for the 3-hour period! So, grab your friends and come for the fries, a salad or a beverage -- it all makes good "cents" for DCES!!!Your DCES McTeacher Night FUN CREWS!

General PTO Meeting RESCHEDULED to Coincide with Our 1st "Campus Chat Day"!
We are happy to inform you that our first Campus Chat Day is coming up on Wednesday, Oct. 23rd. Parents will be able to sign in at the gates at 8:30 and come on campus to chat, have a cup of coffee and a treat.
The General PTO Meeting will follow and begins at 9:00 in the cafeteria. Learn what is going on at DCES, bring your ideas, meet parents and staff!

Don't forget to mark your calendars for DCES PTO's annual Fall Fest! It will be held on Friday, November 8th, from 4:30-8:30pm at the soccer fields behind the school.
Fall Fest is a great event for the entire family! For those families who are new to DCES, it is an outdoor, carnival-style festival. There will be lots of fun booths and a variety of food for everyone to enjoy.

Save the Date and join your fellow cubs watch the Phoenix Suns play the San Antonio Spurs on Friday, Feb 21st at 7pm!
Each ticket includes a free Suns gift and the Lower Level Tickets include a Free Jersey.
If we get more than a 100 tickets sold we will also get early entry to watch the players warm up!

A big, warm, sincere THANK YOU to all of you who made Fun Friday Chili Cook-off such a HUGE success!!! The teachers, office staff, maintenance crew, aides, assistants, etc... all were so appreciative. It was really touching and could not have been pulled off without all your efforts!
A big congrats to our Chili recipe winners (it was an even tie): Tara Hoogendoorn and Debbie Blaes!!!

For our next Tavan Sister School Drive we will be collecting new socks and under things, and new or gently used jackets.Or send in a $dollar$ and we will shop for you!
Send them in the week of Oct. 28th thru Nov. 8th, ending at the Fall Fest.
Tavan is very thankful for our help and they want to show their appreciation by making tamales for us and bringing them to our next PTO meeting on Oct. 30th at 9am! |

Mad Science's Local Guide to Scary Science
This year, Mad Science of Scottsdale/NE Phoenix will be joining in the Halloween fun and frights at several community events across the Valley!
Invite your friends, face your fears and take part in scary science at a location near you!

Scottsdale Parent Council's next public meeting is October 23rd, 9:30 at Cocopah Middle School.
The focus will be how to engage legislators. Representatives Meyer and Brophy McGee will be there to answer questions and offer guidance. They have extended an invitation to Representatives Kavanaugh and Ugenti as well. As usual, Dr. Peterson will be there from 11:00-11:30 for his Q&A session.
