Yoga for Youth
Youth in West End's After School Prevention Program are expanding their options for physical activity - by adding yoga! Classes just started with Empowered Community and will run for approximately four weeks.

Bright Spot Spring Sale
Spring plants grown by youth in our Bright Spot Ventures program are selling out fast. Stop by the greenhouse on the Herman Holloway Campus (1901 N. DuPont Highway) Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. to pick up yours - before they're gone! Also, at the end of May the Mobile Market begins making stops, and Thursday, June 18 is opening day for the Cool Spring Farmers' Market, headlined by Nelly's Echo, a past finalist of NBC's The Voice!

On May 9, members of West End's Above Xpectations Track Team competed at the Tri-State invitational...and nine won GOLD medals!

Culinary Artists
Recently, Spatulearn began providing culinary instruction to West End's youth. Lessons focus on math concepts and reading comprehension through cooking. A recent lesson focused on infusing water with the flavors of fresh fruit and herbs as an alternative to sugary drinks.
