Kids Carnival 
 
On Friday, Oct. 25, the Delaware Prevention Coalition will hold its 2nd annual Kids Carnival - an evening of games and activities designed to prevent drug and alcohol abuse.

The event will take place from 6-9 p.m. at First Baptist Church (301 Walker Rd., Dover, DE 19904).
Walking the West Side

On Tuesday, Oct. 29, from 1-4 p.m., WILMAPCO will lead a Walkable Community Workshop to explore options for implementing design improvements identified by the West Side Grows Together coalition. The tour will begin at the Woodlawn Library and cover the area of Union Street between 7th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue.

West End Youth Go Jurassic

West End's Carrera Youth Achievement Program visited Dinosaur Field Station in Seacaucus, NJ this summer. Nearly 50 youth learned about dinosaurs of all shapes and sizes, while pondering the mystery of the great reptiles' extinction.
Volunteers LIVE UNITED for West End

On October 9, 19 managers from Nordstrom at Christiana Mall volunteered their time at West End through United Way's Days of Action Campaign. They spent the morning building a woodchip path for the agency's community garden, helping harvest vegetables for the Farmer's Market and stocking the Food Closet with donations from a food drive they ran at their store.
WEST END Tutors Making the Grade 

Over the past few months, 21 West End volunteers tutored 53 students to prepare for the GED� exam. Every student increased reading or math proficiency by at least two grade levels - advancements necessary to complete the GED�. Interested in serving as a volunteer tutor? Erik Williams Foundation & West End

The Erik Williams Foundation, founded by three-time Superbowl Champion Erik Williams, promotes youth sports as a means of furthering one's education and career goals. West End is proud to partner with the foundation to sponsor FREE Lady Ravens Basketball Training for girls ages 6-17. Practices are held on Mondays from 6-7:30 p.m. in West End's gym.
