On Monday, November 12th, the West Side Business District held its first networking event. Over 70 guests, including business owners, community groups, stakeholders and resource organizations discussed how to implement the strategies of the West Side Revitalization Plan and strengthen the business district. Lifelines Thanksgiving Celebration

On Tuesday, Nov. 20th, the Life Lines program hosted a Thanksgiving dinner for program members and their families. Nearly 50 individuals filled the Lifelines houses on Dupont Street to enjoy 4 Thanksgiving turkeys with all the trimmings. Some of Life Lines' very first participants returned to celebrate the day and even helped cook the meal!  

Thanksgiving Turkey Give-a-Way
On Saturday, November 17th, West End began distributing 350 baskets of Thanksgiving-related foods (including turkeys) to pre-approved recipients in preparation for the Thanksgiving holiday. Recipients collected the baskets on a very cold November morning, with some arriving more than an hour early. Special thanks to the Wilmington Jaycees for donating the food items and coordinating the overall donation.
Bright Spot Ventures Youth Sales Associates (pictured on left) have collected 7,000 donated books in the month of November alone. Members are building their sales skills with daily 'Show and Sell' presentations, which also serve as brainstorming sessions for these promising young social entrepreneurs.
