Featured Program: Getting Your Recipe to Market |
Rebecca Moore, Sweet and Salty's Caramel Co |

Rebecca Moore Sweet and Salty's Caramel Co |
Rebecca Moore from Sweet and Salty's Caramel Co., is the Spring 2012, Time to Market winner.
Sweet, with a bite of sea-salt, in original or flavors such as curry-cashew, these are sophisticated caramels to savor. New Seasons chose Rebecca for her outstanding soft caramels in creative flavors, as well as overall business plan which includes building in components for social entrepreneurism and local food sourcing - both entrenched values of New Seasons.
The Social Entrepreneur component is an important part of Sweet and Salty's mission and goals. "I really want to give back to the community in my business," Moore states. "By starting to identify a social service non-profit to work with for things such as job training and/or a portion of sales, I believe this won't only help my business but I'll be able to give back to the community in ways that really make a difference." New Seasons was very excited about this additional element of Sweet and Salty's and has also offered to help her find and work with the right non-profit.
Moore credits the Getting Your Recipe to Market program for her success in having a commercial-ready product in a short amount of time, "The open perspective from a diverse group in the program was invaluable, through formal advising and through the other participants in the course. It was also incredibly valuable to have face time with buyers in the food industry. Otherwise it would have taken a long time to have that venue or those relationships built."
Read more about Sweet and Salty's Caramel Co. at their website and learn who inspired Moore to create her award-winning caramels.
