Join us at our Raleigh shop as we welcome an absolutely heroic legion of some of our favorite French winegrowers! Importer Franck Agostini's portfolio of immensely talented producers has contributed hugely to our selection over the years.
Many of you have probably noticed his signature on the back labels of beloved bottles from Bordeaux, France's Southwest, Loire, Rhone, Burgundy, and Languedoc. On May 11th, you have the opportunity to meet the man himself as well as eight of his virtuous vignerons.
- Stephane Gouron - Domaine Gouron of Chinon, Loire

Berengère Quellien - Chateau Lusseau of Graves, Bordeaux

* Mixed cases of wines from this event will receive a 25% discount!!!
Join us on May 14th (both at our Durham and Raleigh stores) from noon to 3:00 PM for our third annual
Rosé Garden Party! Discover the pairing perfection of vibrant rosé and fresh NC oysters (steamed or raw) or seasonal fish from Walking Fish prepared by celebrated local chefs ( Phoebe Lawless of Scratch in Durham and a chef guest in Raleigh yet to be announced). Garden Party visitors at both stores will enjoy a free tasting of four rosés and then pick a glass of their favorite for $15 to enjoy with their choice of a fried fish, oyster, or cheese plate!
Be sure to don a Garden Party outfit! Party attendees with fancy hats, bow ties, or parasols will receive a 10% discount on wine purchases (and an extra 5% off on case and half-case purchases)! A best-costume winner will be selected in both Durham and Raleigh and will receive a whopping $100 Enomatic card (thus ensuring coolest-kid status). Feel free to surprise us with the outlandish rosé-themed outfits of your wildest imaginations!
PS: We need oyster shuckers at both locations. Call or reply to this email to help us out!
Indy's Best of
the Triangle!
Friends, Trianglites, countrymen, you can now vote for your favorite finalists (including a certain passionate bastion of estate-produced wine) by clicking on the Indy's "Best Of" image above! Keep in mind that there are many people out there who may cast votes for the unwieldy, unimaginative chains. Our area's many exciting local businesses depend on your loyalty, selectivity, and vociferous support, so be true to your civic duty and vote for the little guys who make our community special. It truly makes a difference!
It's here at long last! The pink oasis that refreshes our mouths and nourishes our souls is once again in bloom! The Rosé Garden has arrived, and we're kicking off the the season with selections that include the Garden's starring darling, "Venus" (in both bottles and glorious 3-LITER Bag-in-boxes) along with other returning favorites from years past in their shiny new vintages fresh off the boat! As always, a portion of each and every bottle of rosé sold will be donated to the fight against breast cancer!

This Tuesday, May 10th, we present our FREE midweek wine tasting! Every Tuesday is tasty...
Chenin Blanc is a very selective grape. Not content to party just anywhere or with just anyone, it's the definitive A-lister in France's Middle Loire and South Africa's Stellenbosch. Blazing a trail with its blazing acidity and aromas of vibrant citrus and stone fruit, the variety has agreed to show us the ropes and get us on the guest list at next week's Tasty Tuesday. From Anjou to the Cape of Good Hope, we'll learn the moves and see how the Chenin insiders (Cheninsiders?) get down. Be there or be square!
And don't forget:
Our Tasty Tuesday 15% Half-Case Discount!
After you taste, put together 6 bottles from our Tasty Tuesday lineup, and we'll take an entire 15% off!

Free Saturday Tastings!
Durham & Raleigh:
From Noon to 3 pm, "try before you buy"
at our FREE tastings!
Mothers of the Vine:
Four Generations
Join us this Saturday as, in honor of Mother's Day, we chase some familiar grapes along their family tree (or vine) through four generations. Just as it can be with people, the familial resemblance between parent and offspring grapes is sometimes tenuous, and relationships between many varieties have come to light only recently via DNA studies. We'll begin with Pinot Noir (in the form of a brilliant Cava rosé with which we'll toast moms and Mother's Day - also featured in this year's Mother's Day Brunch Bundle). Next, we'll visit the daughter that you never knew belonged to Pinot, Gewürztraminer, and one of her most famous progenies, Sauvignon Blanc. Our final wine is a bold Mendoza Cabernet Sauvignon, representing the centuries old love child of Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Franc. Come and enjoy a Mother's Day tasting with a twist this Saturday. A most delicious family portrait!
Mas Codina
{organic} 100% Pinot Noir
(Penedès, Spain)
CHERRY & BRIGHT RED PLUM, FIRM TEXTURE, LOVELY ACIDITY By law, all Cava must be produced utilizing a secondary fermentation in the bottle - "Méthode Champenoise," but few in this price range warrant such close comparison to the singularly elegant wines of Champagne as this delicate and keenly generous rosé from our friends at Mas Codina. Bright, restrained, and finely textured, this is a profound and understated sparkler which exudes sophisticationt...
Cave Freudenreich
100% Gewurztraminer (Alsace, France)
EXOTIC & INTENSE TROPICAL FRUIT, RICH FLORAL NOTES, OFF-DRY From this venerable Alsatian producer comes a Gewurztraminer that blooms with exotic tropicality, woven with musky spice, and braced by a voluptuous texture and lean, lengthy acidity. Bursting with lychee, passionfruit, and other flavors that one usually has to travel to Southeast Asia to find, this...
Ancient Peaks
(Paso Robles, France)
SWEET ORANGE BELL PEPPER, GOOSEBERRY & FIG From the oldest vines in the San Luis Obispo region, comes this clean, unoaked Sauvignon Blanc. The 35-year-old vines are now mature and naturally low-yielding, meaning the grapes are harvested with lots of flavor, but not much...
Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 "Reserve"
{organic}100% Cabernet Sauvignon
FANTASTIC, FIRM CABERNET WITH A LONG FINISH Very impressive classic cherry Cabernet flavors with a perfect balance between acid/tannin and fruit. The finish is long and deep showing ample toasty oak, but never cloaking the fruit. The high altitude vineyards give us grapes with super ripeness, never losing their backbone...
