The Garden of Rosé
is on its way!
Before our very eyes, the dormant bulbs of last year's Rosé Garden have sprung back into action! Blooming with the final, majestic (and still very vibrant) 2014 offerings of the prettiest and pinkest kind, our beloved display of all things rosé has returned as an ethereal precursor to this year's imminent Rosé Garden. That's not the only good news we have to share, however! All the rapidly rotating crops currently in the garden (and there are seven classics at the moment) clock in at a whopping 25% off! Welcome spring with the assured shimmerings of pink wine...

Tasty Tuesday!
California:
Off the Beaten Path
This Tuesday, April 12th, we present our FREE midweek wine tasting! Every Tuesday is tasty...
Harness your horses and set out with us into the less explored reaches of America's great western wine country! California is plenty famous for its resonant renditions of grapes from Bordeaux and Burgundy, but the state's vineyards are also teaming with less familiar specialties. At our next Tasty Tuesday, we'll explore the possibilities of Austria's Grüner Veltliner from Edna Valley, Tuscany's Sangiovese from Cienega, and the Rhone's Petit Sirah (which is now grown to a far greater extent in California than in its homeland) from Clarksburg. Cheers!
And don't forget:
Our Tasty Tuesday 15% Half-Case Discount!
After you taste, put together 6 bottles from our Tasty Tuesday lineup, and we'll take an entire 15% off!

Free Saturday Tastings!
Durham & Raleigh:
From Noon to 3 pm, "try before you buy"
at our FREE tastings!
At this week's Saturday Tasting, we're showcasing two grapes which have leapt from famously French beginnings to undisputed status as international superstars. Varieties grown on a global scale enjoy a diverse range of possible personalities, and the schism between Old World (original growing areas of Europe) and New World (everywhere else) is often very real - influenced by the philosophies of vignerons, the preferences of local drinkers, and the many varied growing conditions of different regions. We'll explore Sauvignon Blanc from its origins in the Loire as well as its adoptive capital of Marlborough, New Zealand before turning our attention to Merlot. Born in Bordeaux and an almost omnipresent staple of Californian production, Merlot is a grape of many faces. Join us as we explore a brave new world and an equally brave old one!
Domaine de la Bergeonničre
Sauvignon de Touraine 2014
{sustainable} 100% Sauvignon Blanc
(Middle Loire, France)
BRIGHT TROPICAL CITRUS, CAPSICUM AROMA, BLOSSOMY Touraine has long been one of our favorite regions in the world for knockout Sauvignon Blanc, and they tend to be less expensive than some of their more famous neighbors. This lovely nectar from Domaine de la Bergeonniere is a study in...
Barker's Marque
Sauvignon Blanc 2015 "Three Brooms"
100% Sauvignon Blanc (Marlborough, New Zealand)
LIME ZEST, CAPSICUM, GRAPEFRUIT PEEL, DILL The "Three Brooms" represents a sort of family crest for the Barker family in New Zealand. This style of Marlborough Sauvignon is fresh and tangy with a medium body, very ripe fruit flavors, bright acidity and a long finish with a fresh zestiness...
Ancient Peaks
95% Merlot, 5% Malbec (Paso Robles, California)
COFFEE, CHOCOLATE, MEDIUM BODIED, BLACKBERRY Heading toward Southern California, Paso Robles produces a totally different style of wine versus the north. Ancient Peaks, located just 14 miles from the Pacific ocean, holds the Margarita single vineyard surrounded by towering mountains, rich with fossilized soils and cool ocean breezes that...
Chateau Villars
83% Merlot, 14% Cab Franc, 3% Cabernet Sauvignon (Bordeaux, France)
SUBSTANTIAL BLACK PLUM, CHOCOLATE & COFFEE GROUNDS Fronsac, like its more famous neighbor, Pomerol, produces wines which are among the most Merlot-centric of Bordeaux. Here, it isn't unusual for the grape to account for 90% or more of a blend, with its father, Cabernet Franc, and brother, Cabernet Sauvignon providing blink-or-you'll-miss-it cameos. This example is both typical...
