Garden of Rosé
Before our very eyes, the dormant bulbs of last year's Rosé Garden have sprung back into action! Blooming with the final, majestic (and still very vibrant) 2014 offerings of the prettiest and pinkest kind, our beloved display of all things rosé has returned as an ethereal precursor to this year's imminent Rosé Garden. That's not the only good news we have to share, however! All the rapidly rotating crops currently in the garden (and there are seven classics at the moment) clock in at a whopping 25% off! Welcome spring with the assured shimmerings of pink wine...
Indy's Best of
the Triangle!

Friends, Trianglites, countrymen, starting on April 25th, you can vote for your favorite finalists (including a certain passionate bastion of estate-produced wine) by clicking on the Indy's "Best Of" banners above and below! Keep in mind that there are many people out there who may cast votes for the unwieldy, unimaginative chains. Our area's many exciting local businesses depend on your loyalty, selectivity, and vociferous support, so be true to your civic duty and vote for the little guys who make our community special. It truly makes a difference!

Free Saturday Tastings!
Durham & Raleigh:
From Noon to 3 pm, "try before you buy"
at our FREE tastings!
of Youth!
It didn't take mankind very long, in the big scheme of things, to realize that wine is as close to a fountain of youth can be realistically wished for. This Saturday, we're celebrating wines with an additionally youthful glow. The selections themselves aren't necessarily young, but the prodigious winegrowers responsible for them are rising stars that have captured our attention, hearts, and palates. We'll begin in France with the result of a collaboration between a duo of talented Loire vignerons (J. Mourat et J. Huchet) before venturing southeast to the Rhone Valley, where we'll find the Thibon sisters injecting unparalleled passion into their region's spectacular specialties (with the help of Nestor the horse, of course). Next, we'll turn our sights to Italy's Piemonte and Casaccia's Margherita Ravas, whose Barbera has been one of our absolute favorite examples of the grape over the past few vintages. We'll finish the tasting Cali-style with an opulent Syrah from one of the variety's greatest west coast champions, Peter Stolpman. Forever young!
Les Betes
Muscadet Sèvre et Main Sur Lie 2010
{organic} 100% Melon de Bourgogne
(Loire Atlantique, France)
LIME & APPLE, MIGHTY MINERAL, ELEGANTLY OCEANIC The two Jérémies (Huchet & Mourat) of Les Betes Curieuses are impassioned, young Loire vignerons. Both were born in 1977, and both have found their identities as winegrowers while chasing the majestic minerality and invigorating acidity that define their favorite wines. Together, they set out in 2005 to translate the terroir of the Atlantic Loire and the characteristics of the Melon...
Mas de Libian
{biodynamic} 45% Viognier, 35% Roussanne, 10% Clairette (Rhone Valley, France)
GINGERED PEACH CUSTARD, BRIGHT & EXOTIC The soeurs Thibon of Mas de Libian are as thoughtful about naming their wines as they are about creating them. For their single white offering, they play on the "cave canem" ("beware of dog") signs that were discovered in the ruins of Pompeii. Not that there is anything to fear with this...
La Casaccia
Barbera del Monferrato 2014 "Giuanìn"
{organic} 100% Barbera (Piemonte, Italy)
LUSH BLACKBERRY, SUBTLY PETILLANT, HAZELNUT & FUR So many of our newer Italian offerings come with a story, and this is no exception. La Casaccia translated roughly to "ruined house" (we originally heard a decisively less kind translation), and Giovanni Rava does apparently go about making his wines in an atmosphere of magisterial...
Stolpman Vineyards
100% Syrah (Santa Barbera, California)
BRAMBLY BLACKBERRY & CURRANT, BLACK OLIVE, STRIDENT EARTH This beautiful California Syrah is a prime example of heights reached through adversity. A massive heat wave at the very end of the growing season had Stolpman's crews nervous, but the grapes pulled through with shining - albeit deep purple - colors. This is a rich, brambly, piquant wine, full of dark...
