In Like a Lion?
Out Like a Lamb!
You know what they say about March, don't you? It apparently comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb. Well, our Trianglian March 1st peaked at something like 70 degrees Fahrenheit and brought balmy breezes that had the playfulness of an ocelot rather than the frightful roaring of a lion. Of greater interest, each year's March reliably contains the end of a certain winter and the beginning of a the next spring. When settling down for a long winter's nap, we may have visions of sugar plums dancing in our heads, but as we awaken to the glow of warmer weather, we're much more content to fantasize about the fantastic freshness of chilled rosés and aromatic white wines. Ask us about our favorites! After all, we're not sheepish...
Tonight: At our Durham shop!
Portuguese* Wine Class "An Undiscovered Iberia"
Many wine drinkers know enough about Portugal to know that they love it, and yet there's so much more to know! Portugal seems like a new wine frontier to many of us on this side of the Atlantic, but the western Iberian country has a rich viticultural history just begging to be more deeply explored. Join us on March 3rd at our Durham shop
as we treat ourselves to wines made from the many exotic, often exclusive grape varieties of Portugal's diverse array of wine regions! Class includes comprehensive tasting, visual presentation, and handouts.
Thursday, March 3rd, 7:33pm
at our Durham location
Reservations Required: (919)489-2884
*not offered in Portuguese,
but that would be really cool.

Tasty Tuesday:Domaine La Bouysse!
This Tuesday, March 8th, we present our FREE midweek wine tasting! Every Tuesday is tasty...
Nestled in the center of the western Languedoc's Corbieres region, Domaine La Bouysse runs a spectacular dual campain, focusing both on the signature varieties of the area (especially old-vine Carignan) and less expected specialties. Siblings Martine and Christophe never fail to impress us with the quality of their wines or their breadth of scope. Join us this Tuesday as we sample three of their signatures - each representing the arrival of a brand new vintage. Dive into the aromas and ripe fruit of these three intensely perfumed, majestically Mediterranean offerings!

At the Crossroads
of Burgundy!
This weekend, we're putting aside the greys of winter to welcome the golds and burgundies of...Burgundy! With four wines, four grapes (Aligoté, Chardonnay, Gamay, and Pinot Noir), and four subregions (the Cote Chalonnaise, Maconnais, Beujolais, and Cote d'Or), there's something for everybody. Well, there's not something for people who don't like a good Burgundy, but those people don't count.
Domaine Berthenet
100% Aligoté
(Central Burgundy, France)
LIGHT LEMONY CITRUS, FLORAL PERFUME, CHALKY MINERAL Born in the vineyards of the Cote Chalonnaise's Montagny appellation, a mere half-hour south of the Aligoté grape's zenith zone of Bouzeron, this gorgeously restrained white is a Burgundian niche classic. Equally appealing as carefree aperitif or intellectual delight exuding elegantly mineralistic and...
Domaine Tripoz

CLEAN, UNOAKED; FRESH CITRUS, MINERAL & ACACIA From Celine & Laurent Tripoz, who are literally "garage winemakers", comes this purest, cleanest expression of Chardonnay unfettered by oak aging nor man-made chemicals of any sort (the vineyards are entirely organic [biodynamic even!]). Mouthwatering and delicious with great elegance...
Grandes Bruyères
Beaujolais "Prestiges" 2013

If you're new to Gamay, you'll find that it can press the bounds between engaging in an epicurean experience and discovering a new dimension to one's olfactory! One might think that this wine grew...
Domaine Vincent Ledy
{biodynamic} 100% Pinot Noir (Cote d'Or, France)
STRAWBERRY & POMEGRANATE, WILD HERBS & ROSES Vincent Ledy is turning out stunning Burgundies in minuscule quantities. His total production is 700 case per year, and they taste like every bottle was made with loving attention! This Chorey-Les-Beaune comes from a tiny 1/3 hectare site that he farms with some of the lowest yields in the appellation...
