What does September hold? Surprises? Of course! Treasures? There's a distinct possibility. There's also that distinct possibility of milder yet still summery weather, and to address that, we're about to roll out some treasured surprises including a new six-pack of Grenache-centric wines to celebrate International Grenache Day. We have a birthday coming up as well. Our 8th! Isn't there usually a pretty robust sale to celebrate? Read more about that and other Grenache goodies next week...
In the meantime, our next two tastings land perfectly in the later reaches of summer and anticipation of fall. This Saturday, our free tasting features the collision of seasonal colors through the specialties of Austria. Next week's Tasty Tuesday takes us into Italy's Veneto with our sights honed on the specialties of Verona. Read on for details!

Far from Topless... We've got all kinds of shirts up in the house! Our "WINE FROM FARMERS NOT FACTORIES" Pitchforkscrew™ shirts have returned in deepest, azure-i-est, "Ocean" teal. For the first time, we are also offering dedicated shapes for both gals and guys! Each style ranges from small to XXL, and are $15.99. Now you've absolutely no excuse to go around naked (not that you necessarily need an excuse). That's not all, however! We're also offering ( currently at our Raleigh store only) a sharply-designed "Brewed NC" shirt to quench the thirst for our passion for local beer! The silhouette of our fair state becomes a horizontally-oriented beer bottle. Available in sky blue and red! $24.99 each. Both the Wine From Farmers: Pitchforkscrew™ and Brewed NC shirts are grown and entirely made right here in NC by our friends at TS Designs!

This Tuesday, September 1st, we present our FREE midweek wine tasting! Every Tuesday is tasty...
While one of the most famous stories surrounding the city of Verona, Romeo and Juliet, is undisputedly tragic, the province of Verona has a viticultural narrative that one can not help but celebrate! Grape varieties unique to these western reaches of Italy's Veneto provide us with some of the nation's most distinctive specialties. Next Tuesday's tasting hones in on three exceptional values. A Soave, starring the region's signature Garganega grape, brings us healthy, vibrant pear and citrus combined with a richer, yeasty brand of mystique. Next, in both red and rosé form, Valpolicella's Corvina grape stretches its legs with brambly red and black berryish fruit and peppery perfume. Two households (Soave and Valpolicella) both alike in dignity...
And don't forget:
Our Tasty Tuesday 15% Half-Case Discount!
After you taste, put together 6 bottles from our Tasty Tuesday lineup, and we'll take an entire 15% off!

August into Autumn... in Austria!
Here we go! August is ending. Autumn is coming. There are plenty of warm days ahead, but it won't be long until greens turn to golds, oranges, and reds. Each of these colors is set to feature at this week's free Saturday tasting! From four different grape varieties and four of Austria's most celebrated regions for wine production, we have Kamptal Grüner Veltliner (gleaming pale green), Wachau Riesling (immaculate golden clarity), Burgenland Pinot Gris (rich amber/orange) and Wagram Pinot Noir (ruby red with garnet undertones). End August in Austria with a burst of the colors of summer and fall!

(Wachau, Northeastern Austria)
LAZER DRY. PINEAPPLE, MANGO, LIME & RICH MINERALITY Martin Mittelbach is one of the greats right now, but his reputation has not hit the mainstream or quite captivated the critics yet. This dry Riesling from his terraced, hillside vineyards in the prestigious Wachau is the kind of wine...
Pinot Gris 2013 "Meinklang"

(Burgenland, Eastern Austria)
MINERAL, PEAR, FULL-BODIED, RICH, EXOTIC Werner and Angela Michlits run the wine side of the family farm using natural, biodynamic methods. This Pinot Gris is produced in a unique method of NEVER pruning the vines. This is wildly unusual. "Graupert" is German slang for unkempt hair, and one look at these wildly growing vines...
