It's here at long last! The pink oasis that refreshes our mouths and nourishes our souls is once again in bloom! The Rosé Garden has arrived, and we're kicking off the the season with selections that include the Garden's starring darling, "Venus," having just returned (in both bottle and glorious 3-LITER BOX!) and a brand new pink offering from the fan-favorite Austrian producer, Paul D. As always, a portion of each and every bottle of rosé sold will be donated to the fight against breast cancer!

The Forbidden Fruit
of Bruno Lafon!
Special Friday Tasting
5:00 to 7:00 PM @ W.A Durham
Join us tomorrow (Friday, April 17th) as we welcome Bruno Lafon of the Languedoc to our Durham store for a special Friday evening tasting presentation. We've fallen increasingly in love over the past three vintages with his fabulous "Le Fruit Défendu" wines featuring the Cinsault grape. He'll share the brand new vintage of the much sought-after Rosé at this tasting feature as well as the refreshing red. As a special bonus, he'll also pour two magnum (1.5 LITER!) selections from his close friends and associates, Mas de Libian. Don't let the name fool you, the "Fruit Défendu" is anything but forbidden as we settle into spring.

Vine to Wine!

Class is in session...
Join us for a fun and educational evening of wine that chronicles a vine's bud break in the spring to each of its grape's being lovingly squeezed into the bottles that we hold so dear. We cover how vines are grown and wine is made, as well as how to read a label, how to buy wine, how to store wine, how to drink, er, taste wine... and we'll debunk many wine myths throughout this two hour class.

This Saturday from 12 to 3 PM
"try before you buy" at
our FREE tasting
What's red, white, and delicious all over? Austria's eastern borders are crescent shaped promised land of distinctive viticulture where we'll find the nation's revered wine producing regions. This Saturday, we'll begin in Wagram with the latest offering from the young and humble Paul Direder (we typically think of him as "Paul D.), a bright liter of zesty rosé! Next, we'll head northwest into Kamptal where we'll find one of our favorite examples of Austria's crowning jewel, Grüner Veltliner. Next, we'll find ourselves in the southerly Steiermark (Styria) region, where we'll encounter an aromatic and refreshing example of Scheurebe. Last but not least, we'll arrive in Burgenland at the Meinklang family farm for a red blend starring the quintessentially Austrian Zweigelt. Prost!

BRIGHT RASPBERRY & CHERRY, CLEAN & LEAN, VERY DRY WITH GENEROUS FRUIT The newest arrival from Paul Direder's small, coveted, and impressively affordable stable of Wagram-borne wines is a rosé featuring the collaboration between two quintessentially Austrian red grapes. The Zweigelt grape and its lesser-known half-brother, Blauburger, have less than a century of existence under their belts, but that doesn't deter them from fueling...
