Shop Local Raleigh!!!
Happy Thanksgiving! We will be closed on the holiday in question to gorge ourselves along with the rest of America, likely to the point of lying prone upon our carpets. But we'll be right back at it this weekend, for the start of the annual Sustain-A-Bull sale in Durham and the Shop Local sale in Raleigh. Be sure to throw the horn sign in the Bull City or the wolf in Packtown/ Oak City to get 15% off six wines, 20% off on twelve, and 25% on Just-in-Cases! Oh, and if you're looking for something to do with friends and family this holiday season, our very first Rhone Valley Class is coming up on December 4th! It's gonna be real... edutaining! Read up on all the juicy details in the "Rhone Less Traveled" box later in this email...

Our Newest Wine Class: "The Rhone Less Traveled"

7:33 PM @ Wine Authorities Durham
Join us in two weeks at our Durham location as we unveil our newest intermediate wine class - this one dedicated to the Rhone Valley and its wealth of bold, spicy reds and exotic, aromatic whites. We'll follow the Rhone river itself from it's Glacial Swiss beginnings through Lake Geneva and into the French Alps before reaching the viticultural promised lands that we know collectively as "The Rhone Valley." Learn about its history, its appellations, and what differentiates the "Northern Rhone" from the "Southern Rhone" (as well as what, other than the river itself, ties them together). What separates a Cotes-du-Rhone from a Chateauneuf-du-Pape? What's the difference between an Hermitage and a Crozes-Hermitage? Why are all the names hyphenated? Uncover the origins of the Rhone's dynamic grape varietals and drink...er...taste some outstanding examples of the region's phenomenal wines. Vive le Rhone!

This Saturday from 12 to 3 PM
"try before you buy" at
our FREE tasting
This week, we're taking holiday planning by the reins and showcasing four tremendous party wines and/or great value gift ideas at our Saturday tasting. We'll begin with a bright and boldly bubbly Prosecco. Next, we'll head to California for a sublimely winter-friendly Chardonnay which combines toasty, spicy richness with flawlessly firm acidity. Our two reds hail from Spain's Aragon (featuring ripe, spicy Garnacha) and Washington State (featuring bold, sumptuous Syrah). Join us on Saturday and get in gear for the most festive stretch of the year!
Bedin
Prosecco Brut Spumante
100% Prosecco/Glera
(Veneto, Italy)
CRISP WHITE PEACH, GINGER, CLEAN & REFRESHING Prosecco, a Venetian grape associated almost exclusively with sparkling (and semi-sparkling) wines has captured the hearts and tongues of wine-drinkers the world over. Originating from a single contiguous hillside vineyard, Bedin's Brut brings the bubbles, the refreshing elegance, and the fun that we crave in a babbling brook of clean white stone fruit with glints of fresh tropical intrigue...
{sustainable} 100% Chardonnay (Arroyo Grande, California)
LYCHEE & APPLE, LEMON, MILD OAK & GREAT ACIDITY We know Laetitia Winery as the producer of some of our absolute favorite domestic sparklers (which you should also try!), but they make fantastic non-sparkling estate wines in their far-south corner of California's central coast as well. This is a perfectly balanced Chardonnay with interplay between a solid oak base and bright acidity...
Bodegas Tempore
Garnacha "Terrae" 2011
{Organic} 100% Grenache (Aragon, Spain) A BOUQUET OF VIOLETS, A BOWL OF BLACKBERRIES The Yago Aznar family continues a long history of respectful farming practices and viticultural sensibilities, evident in their organic "Terrae" wines. Their old vine garnacha grapes ripen on the arid plains where...
100% Syrah
(Yakima, Washington State)
BLACKBERRY & CHOCOLATE, SPICE & SMOKE Here's a small, domestic winery that's doing it right - crafting great wines at phenomenal prices! This Syrah is a perfect example of Washington state's affinity for this grape, or is it vice versa? Bridging the styles of French and Australia for this grape, it brings both spice and lush fruit without being heavy or overripe...
