Warm Weather Approaches...
We Have Great Whites
And Radiant Ross!
As things finally begin to heat up, keep in mind that we have enough great whites to satisfy...well, a great white. Of equal importance is that we also have a healthy population of bright, lithe, streamlined ros. To make them still more irresistible and easier to catch, we've gone and put them thangs on sale. We're offering a 20% discount on all the non-sparkling ros in the store! Come on down and take a big chomping bite out of some seriously delicious pink.

Tasty Tuesday!
Ros Featurette pt.1:
"Impending Spring"
This Tuesday, March 11th, we present our FREE
midweek wine tasting.  Every Tuesday is tasty!

  5:00 - 7:00 pm
Pink blossoms are around the corner, and we have the perfect lineup to prepare our palates for arrival of spring.  As all still ross throughout the store are currently a whoppin' 20% off, we're celebrating this Tuesday with a curated exhibit of three classics. We'll begin in France's promised land of ros, Provence, for a typically light, bright, and brilliantly crisp example of exactly why the pink wines of the region are known the world over. Next, we'll hop, skip, and jump our way to the countryside north of Toulouse for a creamier offering made from the Negrette grape. We'll end our pre-vernal crusade in southern Valencia where we'll soak up the deeply colored, juicy Monastrell rosado from Bodegas Los Frailes. Think pink!

And don't forget:
Tasty Tuesday 15%
Half-Case Discount!
After you taste, put together 6 bottles from our Tasty Tuesday lineup, and we'll take an entire 15% off!
Next Wednesday:
Special Guests!
Far-Flung Friends from
Argentina & California
Next Wednesday, March 12th, we present special
tastings (and guests) in Durham & Raleigh

5:30 - 7:00 pm
We're on our very best behavior these days, because it seems like it's this time of year that our out-of-town wine friends come to visit and share their delicious offerings with the greatest frequency. On Wednesday March 12th we welcome emissaries from two of our favorite New World producers. At our Durham location, we will host Roberto Luka, owner of Argentina's high-altitude Finca Sophenia, pouring Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and his winery's stunning Malbec. In Raleigh, please join us as we extend a welcome to Mike Sinor, winemaker from the calcareous soils of the Ancient Peaks Winery of Paso Robles, home to some of the best values in Californian wine that we've encountered. Both tastings are free and will run from 5:30-7:00 pm. We love it when friends visit!

Bordeaux vs. Burgundy
BordeauxVsBurgundyVsDukeVsUNC
A Timeless Rivalry
This Saturday, inspired in part by an infamous crosstown basketball rivalry, we'll take a good look at one of the wine world's most timeless (not to mention tastiest) pair of arch nemeses.  Why is it that as soon as we've recognized that two entities are exceptionally good at something, we set about straight away trying to determine which is better?  Thankfully for us, neither Bordeaux nor Burgundy will ever truly be crowned champion in their tireless battle for the hearts and palates of wine lovers the world over.  In fact, in this competition, it's the drinker/taster who wins every time.  So, as tempted as you might be to pick sides, take the wiser route of sitting back and enjoying the epic clash between Burgundy and Bordeaux this Saturday afternoon.  Game on!
