Greetings!
Hot off the heels of last week's celebration of our sixth birthday, we couldn't be more excited to fill you in on the status of our impending second location in Raleigh! Our original Durham store will remain unchanged and occupied by the same staff that you've come to know and trust. In mere weeks (let's say 6 to 8, fingers and toes crossed), our Capital City home at 211 E Franklin Street in the Person Street Plaza will open its doors and welcome friends new and old to a space which will be familiar to anyone who knows Wine Authorities but with a few exciting new tricks up its sleeves (more details to follow soon)!

The limericks are in! Our celebrity judges have, as promised, painstakingly deliberated over each entry's merits. This Tuesday, September 24th, we present our FREE midweek wine tasting. Every Tuesday is tasty! From 5:00 - 7:00, we host this bonus tasting of three wines to get you through the early week and land you safely on hump day!
For our first tasting of autumn, we're turning our attention to the cooling alpine breezes of France's Savoie. While skiers the world over look to the region as a haven of fresh powdery snow and some of Europe's most famous slopes, it's also home to hillsides clutched by rows of vines. Join us this Tuesday for tastes of whites from the region's racy, chiseled Jacqure and lush, aromatic Altesse grapes. The red Mondeuse, now known to be an ancient grandparent grape to Syrah, is set to make a rare appearance as well.
And don't forget:
Tasty Tuesday 15%
After you taste, put together 6 bottles from our Tasty Tuesday lineup, and we'll take an entire 15% off!

More by Northwest!
Run, don't walk, to the distinctive and delicious wines of America's Pacific Northwest! This Saturday, we're tasting a few of Oregon and Washington's signatures - specialties for which the states have grown increasingly famous. From Oregon's Willamette Valley, examples of Pinots Noir and Gris demonstrate exactly why the "Beaver State" has perhaps become better known for its interpretations of Burgundian varietals than for the dammings of oversized rodents. Meanwhile, the arid east of the "Evergreen State" provides US fans of Riesling and Syrah (an odd couple, perhaps, but two of Washington's best-loved specialties) with some of our nation's most exciting examples of the two grapes. With wines as dynamic and representative as these, there's no threat of mistaken identity, and we're sure to find ourselves craving more from our Northwest!
