Greetings! top

This week, we're kickin' it French...
Southern Style
Southern France 2
Our next two tastings focus on the southern French countryside.  This Saturday (the 10th), we celebrate the main drag of Mediterranean France, the Languedoc, with four strikingly different and stunningly delicious examples of just a few of the region's signature specialties.  Next Tuesday (the 13th), our Tasty Tuesday theme is set to take us from one end of France's nether regions to the other, beginning in beautiful Provence and ending just north of Toulouse in the Sud-Ouest.  Join us as we redefine southern hospitality.  Mais Oui!

ONE MORE WEEK:

Pack your spirit of adventure!
Adventure Pack 2013
At Wine Authorities, we've become famous for our curated selection of great value artisan wines - the kind that you can drink any night of the week and still feel like you are having something really special, handmade, and delicious. We steer well clear of corporate producers and their deceptive legions of fake brands. We also avoid the tired cliché of wine exploited as a status symbol or collectible commodity, embracing instead the timeless pleasure of drinking and enjoying delicious but affordable wine.
Another passion of ours, as a quick look around our shelves should indicate, is adventurous wine education! We never get enough of wines which stray from the beaten path - especially when they contain uncommon grapes or represent seldom-seen regions. In this spirit of adventure, we're proud to offer a case of four wines (three bottles each) that would make any sommelier giddy. There are always gems like these hidden in plain sight on our shelves, but this case bundles them into your own personal wine adventure!

Planning your getaway?
Vacation Box
For many of us, this stretch of summer is prime vacation time.  We flock to the beach to soak up the sun and bathe in the Atlantic breeze or we head for the mountains to escape the insistent midsummer heat.  Either way, we want our excursions to be special and filled with wonderful, memorable things.  Unfortunately, most of our favorite nearby travel destinations are sorely lacking in places to buy good wine.  Well, we've put together an assortment of some of our favorite vacation wines, tailored to the season and to our beautifully varied NC landscape - each at home on the beach or mountain cabin porch.  So, as you pack for your vacation, don't forget our essential vacation pack!

"Paradise of the Vine"
.
Pic Saint-Loup Stretching  westward from the Rhone River's delta for over 150 miles and ending in the foothills of the Pyrenees, the Languedoc is a sprawling paradise of the vine.  Once in danger of being dismissed as a hub of quantity over quality, it has quickly and quietly escaped the less flattering stereotypes which previously haunted it - still providing wine lovers the world over with outstanding values but no longer seen simply as the source of France's languishing "wine lake."  Join us this Saturday, as we wade into the delicious depths of the Languedoc and unveil four diverse selections beginning with an old favorite before visiting three newer wines never before featured at one of our Saturday tastings.
