Pack your spirit of Adventure!
Adventure Pack 2013
At Wine Authorities, we've become famous for our curated selection of great value artisan wines - the kind that you can drink any night of the week and still feel like you are having something really special, handmade, and delicious. We steer well clear of corporate producers and their deceptive legions of fake brands. We also avoid the tired cliché of wine exploited as a status symbol or collectible commodity, embracing instead the timeless pleasure of drinking and enjoying delicious but affordable wine.
Another passion of ours, as a quick look around our shelves should indicate, is adventurous wine education! We never get enough of wines which stray from the beaten path - especially when they contain uncommon grapes or represent seldom-seen regions. In this spirit of adventure, we're proud to offer a case of four wines (three bottles each) that would make any sommelier giddy. There are always gems like these hidden in plain sight on our shelves, but this case bundles them into your own personal wine adventure!

Planning your getaway?
Vacation Box
For many of us, this stretch of summer is prime vacation time.  We flock to the beach to soak up the sun and bathe in the Atlantic breeze or we head for the mountains to escape the insistent midsummer heat.  Either way, we want our excursions to be special and filled with wonderful, memorable things.  Unfortunately, most of our favorite nearby travel destinations are sorely lacking in places to buy good wine.  Well, we've put together an assortment of some of our favorite vacation wines, tailored to the season and to our beautifully varied NC landscape - each at home on the beach or mountain cabin porch.  So, as you pack for your vacation, don't forget our essential vacation pack!

Tasty Tuesday:
A Penedès Playground
Featuring the Wines of Mas Codina

This Tuesday, July 23rd, we present our FREE mid-week wine tasting.  Every Tuesday is tasty! From 5:00 - 7:00, we host this bonus tasting of three wines to get you through the early week and land you safely on hump day!
Mas Codina Logo Green
Stretching out just below Barcelona along Spain's northwest coast is the picturesque land of Cava, but Cava isn't the only treasure we'll find in Penedès!  This Tuesday, we'll begin with a taste of the region's trademark bubbly courtesy of one of our favorite producers, Mas Codina, before turning our attention toward a couple of the estate's more unique specialties - a deeply colored rosé which borders on red and a luscious but firmly structured blend featuring Cabernet and a pinch of Merlot. Come along to Catalonia!
And don't forget:
Tasty Tuesday 20%

Burgundian Hopscotch
Burgundian Hopscotch
At this week's Saturday tasting, we're going to be hopping all over Burgundy in pursuit of great wines which sum up each of its great subregion's specialties.  We'll begin in the south, tasting a rich but unoaked Chardonnay from the Maconnais.  Next, we'll venture to the northern extreme of what can still be considered Burgundy, tasting a pristine example of Chablis.  From here on it will be reds - two Pinot Noirs (from Beaune and the Cote Chalonnaise) and a Gamay from one of the brightest points of Beaujolais.  Cheers!
