Greetings!
 And so is Riesling!
An entire season might seem like too lengthy a period of time to dedicate to a single grape varietal, and while that could usually be the case, this is Riesling that we're talking about! Since 2008, a grassroots movement has been building momentum to increase the ancient German grape's audience and help it reclaim its historical status as the most regal white varietal of all! What does this mean for Wine Authorities? Well for starters, we have some exceptional Riesling tastings lined up this summer, the first falling on this Saturday - the second day of summer. We'll also be featuring some of our favorite Rieslings on the Enomatic throughout the season. Join us, cuddle up with the brilliant acidity and unabashed minerality, and fall in love all over again! ~~~~Durham Mag's "Best of Durham" 2013
Voting season in Durham Magazine's annual "best of" polls has arrived! Vote! Support our many excellent local, independent businesses and don't let chains become the face of our town. It's quick, it's easy, and it truly matters.

Tasty Tuesday!
"Belly up to the Barbera"
This Tuesday, June 24th, we present our FREE mid-week wine tasting. Every Tuesday is tasty! From 5:00 - 7:00, we host this bonus tasting of three wines to get you through the early week and land you safely on hump day!
When hot weather rolls around, powerhouse reds aren't necessarily as desirable as they would be by the flickering glow of the fireplace. Yet, sometimes a substantial wine with real depth is still what's called for. Few varietals are as consistently reliable for yielding reds which are both bold and refreshing as northern Italy's Barbera, its dark fruit and firm structure beautifully streamlined with lively acidity. Join us this Tuesday as we sample three of these majestic Piemontese reds!
And don't forget:
Tasty Tuesday 20%
After you taste, put together 12 bottles from our Tasty Tuesday lineup, and we'll take an entire 20% off!

Riesling Around the World
The Riesling grape, quite possibly Germany's greatest contribution to the world of wine, has made its way around the world and won the passion and enthusiasm of wine lovers everywhere. This Saturday, we celebrate the varietal and the return of the "Summer of Riesling," an international movement which is dedicated to the wonderfully bright minerally wines which the grape breaths life into. Join us for a tasting of Rieslings from around the world: Washington State, Austria, France, and New Zealand! Don't worry, German Riesling will get its own time in the spotlight in a tasting next month (as July has come to be known as "The 31 Days of German Riesling" among the grape's most avid admirers).
