Greetings!
We seem to recall something about an early spring. Well, as photogenic as our furry friend may be, perhaps he could use some fine tuning in his approach to meteorology. Though our promised change in seasons has been neither early nor even on schedule, we can take the opportunity to enjoy this current peppering of diverse weather: a crisp ros at today's picnic and an enveloping, full-bodied red tomorrow evening by the fireplace. After all, how often can you actually take advantage of such a full spectrum of seasonal wine pairings in a single 24 hour period?

Tasty Tuesday!
Western Portugal's
Setubal & Lisboa
This Tuesday, April 9th, we present our mid-week FREE wine tasting. Every Tuesday is tasty! From 5:00 - 7:00, we host this bonus tasting of three wines to get you through the early week and land you safely on hump day!
Portugal's distinctive western profile isn't only home to the capital city of Lisbon and picturesque beaches, but it also sets the stage for a variety of the country's dynamic wine specialties. At this week's Tasty Tuesday, we'll venture to the capital's surrounding countryside for tastes of the distinctive white grape, Arinto, and an affable, satisfying blend featuring four of the nation's premier red grapes. Setbal, that most peninsular of Portuguese landforms, will also contribute a red to the mix which features the Castelo (aka Periquita) grape flying solo.
And don't forget:
Our Tasty Tuesday 20% Mixed Case Discount! After you taste, put together 12 bottles from our Tasty Tuesday lineup, and we'll take an entire 20% off!

At the Feet of the Mountains
Italy's northwestern reaches sprawl gently over the alpine foothills and provide wine lovers the world over with a diverse array of bold and distinctive specialties unlike those of any other region. This Saturday, we're featuring four unique faces of Piemonte wine beginning with one of the region's best known appellations for white wine, Gavi, and its vibrantly bright Cortese grape. Next, we're excited to present one of the most exotically aromatic examples of Arneis that one might hope for. Fresh, firm, food-friendly reds starring Barbera and Dolcetto will round out the lineup - each capturing the essence of its respective varietal. Join us and snuggle up beneath the Alps this weekend!
WEEKLY WINE™ $12 to $19.99
Stefano Massone Gavi 2011 100% Cortese (Piemonte, Italy)
FRESH, RIPE & TINGLY, SUBLIME LIME-ISH-NESS Stefano Massone gives us a superb example of great Gavi made from the Cortese grape. This is sublime and limey with a medium-full body and crisp, juicy ripeness. The pale straw color is deceptive as the wine tastes bigger than it looks. Maybe it's...

Cascina Val de Prete
Arneis Roero 2011 "Lut" {biodynamic} 100% Arneis (Piemonte, Italy)
LILAC PERFUME. QUINCE, LEMON, PEAR. VIVIDLY ETHEREAL The Arneis grape's exotic perfume has earned it a reputation for being the worthy (but unrelated) white counterpart to the most famous of Peimontese red grapes, Nebbiolo. Pale golden in color and firm but moderate in the acidity department, this example of the native northwestern...

Carussin
Barbera d'Asti 2011 "Asinoi" {sustainable} 100% Barbera (Piemonte, Italy)
INTENSE STEWED RED PLUM AND CURRANT, BALSAMIC WITH A KISS OF FUNK Matteo and Luca Garberoglio are the genial, laid-back dudes behind the 85 year-old Carussin estate, where they spend their days brewing beer and hanging out with donkeys. Oh, and making incredible wine. This powerful Barbera is an...

Terrabianca
Dolcetto d'Alba 2011 "Brichet"
{sustainable} 100% Dolcetto (Piemonte, Italy) WILD BERRY, PLUM GIVING WAY TO PRUNE, HEADY HERBS Here we have a another delicious Dolcetto from Terrabianca, albeit a richer and more full-bodied example than one typically finds. This is a vivacious and approachable wine, but with added depth, length, and maturity thanks to fruit from 70-90 year old vines that grow on the...
