Greetings!
Cahors!

The birthplace of Malbec
Five hundred years ago, it was revered by the British as "the black wine" and famous as "Kagor" among Russian aristocracy. Scheming merchants in Bordeaux became jealous of its dark and delicious intensity and acted to limit its distribution abroad. These days, its ancient grape, Malbec, seems to grow more famous by the minute, but many of us haven't yet gotten to know the region of Cahors quite as well as we might like. This weekend, we welcome a forward-thinking and dedicated representative of the Southwestern French appellation to our shop. Emmanuel Rybinski of Clos Troteligotte will be pouring his wines at our free tasting this Saturday from noon to three. We'll also be featuring a couple of classical snack pairings for these masterful Malbecs, so stop in, taste, and don't even let us catch you browsing Bordeaux. This Saturday belongs to Cahors!

Beer Selections from
BCBB!
Luke Studer of Bull City Burger & Brewery will be at the store from noon to three pouring samples of three of the brewery's truly outstanding beers. BCBB never fails to impress with its knack for both stylistically classic, true-to-form brews and the occasional delicious experiment. Come out this Saturday to sample (or revisit) what have become a few of their best-loved beers - a pilsner, bitter, and oatmeal stout. Cheers, mates!

Hosted by the estate's Marcella Bianco
The Piemonte's Castello di Verduno is a small family estate with picturesque vineyards in both Barolo and Alba. Tasty Tuesday!
"Take Us to Your Liter"
This Tuesday, March 5th, we present our FREE mid-week wine tasting. Every Tuesday is tasty! From 5:00 - 7:00, we host this bonus tasting of three wines to get you through the early week and land you safely on hump day!
Sometimes, you just have to break that liter barrier! It's almost time for picnics, and it's always a good idea to stock up on some fabulous wines in larger-than-liter format. At next week's Tasty Tuesday, in fact, one liter is just the beginning! We'll start with a liter of crisp off-dry Riesling from Germany's Rheinhessen. Next, we'll graduate to the big 1.5! From southern Bordeaux's great-value cradle of white, Entre Deux Mers, a Sauvignon Blanc based blend is prepared to knock your socks off with razory citrus and delicate herbs. Finally, we'll hit up Provence for a lush yet energetic red in illustrious three liter bag-in-box! Oh yeah!
And don't forget:
Our Tasty Tuesday 20% Mixed Case Discount! After you taste, put together 12 bottles from our Tasty Tuesday lineup, and we'll take an entire 20% off!

K-Pow! It's Cahors!!
With Emanuel Rybinski
This Saturday, at our free tasting, we welcome a truly dedicated and forward-thinking ambassador of Southwestern France's Cahors to our shop. Emmanuel Rybinski of Clos Troteligotte will be pouring three of his wines, begininning with a couple of his firmly structured, mineral-rich cuvées (the "K-nom" and the "K-or") grown organically and vinified without oak aging. The third and final wine is the simultaneously sumptuous and very solid "K-price," whose generous flavor and powerful oak-aged physique are not to be missed! We'll also be featuring a couple of classical snack pairings for these masterful Malbecs including Bleu d'Auvergne cheese an indulgent paté from The Pig...

Clos Troteligotte
Cahors "K-nom" 2009
{organic} 85% Malbec, 15% Merlot
(Southwest France)
PLUMS, BLACKBERRY, LIGHT SMOKE, MINERAL, ELEGANT TANNINS Emmanuel Rybinski is fresh out of oenology school, yet his experience in winemaking has taken him from France to Australia to California to learn first hand winemaking techniques around the world. Now settled in southwest France's Cahors, he turns out some fantastic Malbec based...

Clos Troteligotte
Cahors 2009 "Kor" {organic} 100% Malbec (Southwest France)
PEPPER, BLACKBERRY, ANISEED, & A TOUCH OF COCOA Emmanuel Rybinski knows that great wine is made on the vine, and he devotes most of his time to carefully farming his small vineyard (which of course makes us at Wine Authorities get all swoony). Debudding and judicious pruning means that his Malbec bunches have...

Clos Troteligotte
Cahors 2008 "Kprice" {organic} 100% Malbec (Southwest France)
FIRM BLACK PLUM, SPICY TOASTED OAK & MINERAL Perhaps somewhat frivolous in its name but undeniably stern in its constitution, Emmanuel Rybinski's "K-price" (a play on the word "caprice") reveals its deliciously dark aura from the very first sip. This very contemporary representative of the famously "Black Wine" of Cahors is indeed very black in both flavor and...
