Greetings!
We're Kickin' it Kiwi with a Special Free Thursday Tasting
Hosted by Eric Platt
5:00-7:00pm
This evening, we welcome Eric Platt of Pacific Prime Wines as our special guest. He'll be pouring three selections from his dynamic New Zealand portfolio. From Marlborough, there'll be a classic Kiwi Sauvignon Blanc with a twist - a cold climate masterpiece of jump-starting acidity with a dash of sweetness as icing on the cake. From the neighboring Nelson region, a most Grü-Vee Austrian expat is set to make a glimmeringly mineralistic appearance. Last but not least, from NZ's capital of Pinot Noir (and the most southerly wine region on the planet), Central Otago, a commandingly bold example of the classic Burgundian red is poised to unravel us with its unmistakable elegance. Don't miss it!
And on March 7th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm...
Castello di Verduno
Special Free Thursday Tasting!
Hosted by the estate's Marcella Bianco
The Piemonte's Castello di Verduno is a small family estate with picturesque vineyards in both Barolo and Alba. In two weeks, we welcome young Marcella (pictured in the family portrait above on the left) as she pours five of the castello's fabulous wines from 5:00 to 7:00 during a special free Thursday tasting! In the four years that we've carried the estate's wines, we've often noted that each and every offering we taste from them is stellar, and here we have a great opportunity to sample five of these gems all at once!

¡Gotcha Garnatcha!
Originating in or close to Northern Spain's historic Aragon region, the ancient Garnacha grape (Grenache in French) is one of the true kings of the Mediterranean. This Saturday, we'll visit some of its contemporary capitals in both its Spanish homeland and adoptive France. We'll begin in the western Languedoc for a taste of the famously fresh and aromatic white skinned mutation of the grape, Grenache Blanc. Next, we'll journey southward to Navarra, where we'll encounter Garnacha immersed in one of its favorite hobbies, being vinified as pretty & pink rosé. We'll remain in Spain for our third wine of the afternoon, a bold red from Catalonia's Montsant. Finally, we'll find ourselves in the Southern Rhone's Lirac (just across the river from Chateauneuf du Pape), where we'll taste a brand new Grenache/Mourvedre blend brimming with spice and inky dark fruit. Garnacha Guaranteed!

HONEYSUCKLE & GARDENIA, PEAR, & LIGHT CITRUS Our friend Martine Pages (PAH-jess) is really hitting her stride. The current vintages of all of her wines are the best she's ever made. This white is lush and full, but bright and lively. It's expansive and sophisticated, but tangy and...

Navarra Rosado 2011 "Lagrima de Garnacha" {organic} 100% Garnacha (Navarra, Spain)
PINKALICIOUS! RASPBERRY FRUIT, LEMON ZEST We met Carlos Aliaga in southern France at a wine show. This wine's ruby-pink on a table of red wine caught our eyes. Its name, Lagrima de Garnacha or "Grenache Tears," compelled us to taste. Bright and crisp with telltale raspberry Grenache aromas, light lemon zest goodness and a long dry...
