     We have a very fun (and very romantic) week planned at the store.  Not only does our annual "Lovin' Bubbles" class fall smack on the evening of Valentine's Day this year, but our upcoming Tasty Tuesday features a trio of sparkling rosé heartthrobs to help spread the love. 
     Speaking of love, you can now vote for your favorite Triangle businesses (including wine shop - hint, hint) by clicking on the Indy's "Best Of" banner below! Remember, there are many people out there voting who think McDonald's is the best burger, and Harris Teeter is the best place to buy wine.  Do your duty, and support the little guys who really make your community special, by giving them your vote!  It can really make a difference and keep them afloat.

On February 14th, you'll swoon over our 

Valentine's class on sparkling wine & chocolate.

     Bubbles have been terribly misunderstood... until now. Don't know your Cava from your Sekt? Just what is the difference between Spumante and Frizzante?  Why must Champagne always be so French? Well, this class will take you through the world of sparkling wines (and feature bubbly from around the world).
     We'll dispel myths, defy logic, and drink fizzy drinks. The evening will conclude with dessert sparklers and exceptional chocolate. If you've been afraid of effervescence, fear no more!  We'll show you the good stuff that won't cost you a monk and a leg.

     Hot on the heels of previous years' "Science of Wine" events, this is the science of food and drink!  Local chefs, bartenders, scientists, and more will greet you at the Museum of Life and Science to demonstrate the various techniques of culinary physics and ancient ways of preserving foods.  We'll be there pouring wine and conducting an experiment surrounding the dynamics of taste perception.  Click on the image above for more info!

Tasty Tuesday!
"Blushing for Valentine's" 

  This Tuesday, February 12th, we present our mid-week FREE wine tasting.  Every Tuesday is tasty! From 5:00 - 7:00, we host this bonus tasting of three wines to get you through the early week and land you safely on hump day!

    What's more romantic for Valentine's Day than a dozen roses?  Three sparkling rosés, of course!  Join us this Tuesday as we sample a diverse trio of blushing bubblies.  We'll start with something slightly sweet and tartly sassy from France's Loire before getting cozy with a refreshing and elegantly earthy treat from Austria's Burgenland.  We'll wrap things up in California's Arroyo Grande with a truly Champagne-class sparkler made from Pinot Noir that you'll hardly be able to stop smooching when the tasting ends.

Swami in the Southeast Join us this Saturday as Craig takes us through a recap of his recent travels in the wine regions of southeastern France. He'll tell you about his experiences and, more importantly, pour samples of delicious wine for you to taste! We'll begin close to France's center, in the Cote Roannaise for a lighthearted sparkler which couldn't be more appropriate for kicking off a Saturday afternoon tasting!  After a quick detour to Provence for an aromatic and versatile Mediterranean white, we'll find our Swami in the southernmost reaches of Burgundy, where he'll share with us a vibrant and elegantly youthful red from the Beaujolais cru of Régnié.  To conclude the tasting, we'll settle down in the Southern Rhone for a sample of the most recent vintages of reds from a pair of our all-time favorite producers.  Bon Voyage!
