The Vancouver Dyke March Festival Society (VDMFS) in collaboration with GayWhistler co-produce the 2013 Lesbian Ski Week during WinterPRIDE
 

Vancouver, BC - December 10, 2012 - GayWhistler and the Vancouver Dyke March Board of Directors are proud to announce a co-producers' role at this season's Lesbian Ski/Snowboard Week at GayWhistler's WinterPRIDE February 3-10, 2013 at the resort of Whistler, British Columbia.

"The festival continues to evolve year over year and we see a greater importance in integrating key community groups into the fabric of WinterPRIDE and giving those groups an opportunity to raise much needed funds and awareness of their organizations.  It was very natural for the festival to work with a women's community group, such as the Vancouver Dyke March Festival Society, and to continue to build on the success we have had with the women's programming.  This year we are excited to enhance women's programming with the Lesbian Ski/Snowboard Week at WinterPRIDE," explains Dean Nelson, CEO & Executive Producer of GayWhistler.  "We are thrilled with the value, passion, and the excitement the Vancouver Dyke March will bring this coming season."

Dyke March President Theresa Wilson echoes Nelson's remarks saying, "2013 marks 10 years of community, activism, and good times with The Vancouver Dyke March Festival Society.  To acknowledge this milestone the Society is celebrating with the "Dyke Decade" with a special kick off to the Society's monthly celebration events with GayWhistler's Lesbian Ski/Snowboard Week - WinterPRIDE.  We encourage all women from Vancouver and from the shores far away to celebrate with us in Whistler as our first major debut of the New Year."

Women guiding women with the WinterPRIDE ski program, daily après ski parties and as the weekend approaches and as the weekend warriors come up to the mountains it is time to adjust to the altitude Friday night with a round of lesbian speed dating at the AVAA Whistler hotel. Then bring your new friend(s) to Black's Pub for Purrlesque, a night of erotic dance at the foot of Whistler Mountain with special guests Lola Frost & April O'Peel.

After shredding the hill over on Saturday, kick off those ski boots and get cozy at the final lesbian après ski of the week.  Later that night DJ Kasey Riot heats up the dance floor at WOW - the Women of WinterPRIDE at the Garibaldi Lift Co. farewell party.

The vision for the Vancouver Dyke March is to bring an all-inclusive, female / family, dog-friendly march and festival into the East side (Commercial Drive area). We hope people of all ages will enjoy an afternoon of visibility, pride, music, community art and merry-making the day before the annual Vancouver Pride Parade.  To mark it's 10-year anniversary, the Dyke March Festival Society will be hosting an event on the 10th of every month, starting with an AGM in January.
