 All Saints' Sunday
Our services of worship will be of special thanksgiving as we remember the saints who have gone before us. On this day, we will lift up in thanksgiving those of the faith, members of our congregation, who have died since this time last year. A roll of these members will be read aloud during services. We hope you will be able to share in our thanksgiving and memorial service.
At our 11:00 Service, our chancel choir will present excerpts from Fauré Requiem with Chamber orchestra including harp. This requiem is a larger musical work written to commemorate life on earth. We have invited the families of our church members who died this year to join us in worship and receive a white rose in memory of their loved one. Prayers of peace for all
who grieve this day.

Stewardship 2016: The Grace of Giving
|
Our stewardship theme this year is The Grace of Giving. As we read the "Roll Call of the Saints" on Sunday, let us acknowledge all that God has given us, and remember what a privilege and a joy it is to give back to Him. Give, and it will be given to you . . . for the measure you give will be the measure you get back. Luke 6:38 (NSRV)
Pledge cards have been sent in the mail and are also available in the pews. Please prayerfully consider your gift to the ministry of Christ in and through First Presbyterian Church. You may place your card in the offering plate, or send it to the church office. You can also pledge online here.
Our pledge participation is already over 42%. Thanks to those who have pledged early. Commitment Sunday is November 15, and you may bring your pledge card to worship on that day if you have not sent it in before.

FPP Fall Food Drive Begins This Sunday
|

At this time of year, when we give thanks for our many blessings, the preschool is having a food drive for those less fortunate. Nearly 51,000 children in Central Virginia don't know where their next meal is coming from. Our food drive will help FeedMore reach out to children, families and seniors who don't have enough to eat.
Bags are being sent home. Please fill them with food and return before December 1. Containers for your donations will be placed in the preschool hallways.
FeedMore's most needed items are:
- peanut butter
- canned tuna and chicken
- low sodium veggies
- fruits packed in juice
- spaghetti sauce (no glass, please)
- canned or dry beans
- hot and cold cereal
