Jonah: More Than a Fish Tale

Sundays in June    9:00 - 9:50 am    Room 218

You may have heard about Jonah being swallowed by a whale, but what about the rest of the story?  The story of Jonah is a long tale that deals with surprisingly contemporary issues: resentments against national enemies, running away from God, revenge and forgiveness, anger at God and God's relentless grace.

Our teacher is the engaging Bruce Miller.  He is the artistic director for Virginia Repertory Theatre, a Presbyterian elder, and a seasoned Bible teacher who knows how to bring a story to life.  Rosalind Banbury is his sidekick.

Pentecost Offering

A member of FPC, Nicole has been a part of Open Door band, Young Adult Ministries, and in 2010 served as our Intern for Youth Ministry.

A 2011 graduate of Union Presbyterian Seminary, Nicole brings a great amount of pastoral care experience. She spent the last three years working as a Staff Chaplain at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg. Her areas of expertise in pastoral care include: pediatric patients and families; trauma and crisis ministry; mental health populations; palliative care and hospice patients; and families facing end of life, grief, and loss.
