Help Victims of Earthquake in Nepal

Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) is on the ground assisting many who have survived the earthquake in Nepal by distributing immediate life-saving supplies such as water, food, shelter and medication. Click here to donate to this vital mission.

Reception for Tammy Richelieu
Sunday, May 17    Noon

Please join us in the Fellowship Hall after worship this Sunday for a reception in honor of Tammy Richelieu.  Tammy and her family are moving to Honolulu where her husband, J.R., has been reassigned with the Army.

Tammy came to FPC in November 2006 and implemented many new wonderful programs for our children during these eight years.  Her philosophy of growing compassionate children blossomed into many innovative programs, including:

  • A workshop rotation model for Sunday School
  • Funtastic First Fridays: a monthly fellowship gathering for 1st - 3rd graders combining a sense of church with a sense of fun
  • FaithGirlz: a  monthly book club for 3rd - 5th grade girls, giving them the opportunity to talk about faith and real-life issues
  • Club 4-5: a twice-a-month group for 4th and 5th graders that evolved into a service group implementing Jesus' commandment of learning to love your neighbor
  • Quarterly baptism classes with the church pastors for new parents

If you would like to contribute to a farewell gift for Tammy and her family, you may send a check to the church office, attention Terrie Sears, and label it "Tammy's gift."

We will miss Tammy, J.R., Clay, Ashton and Tyrel, and wish them well as they start this exciting new chapter in their lives.

The Fifth Grade Dessert at George Mason Elementary School is a special event geared towards celebrating the outgoing fifth graders as they  transition to middle school.  This fun event will be Wednesday, June 3, 4:30 pm at The Robinson Theater.

Help is needed for set-up, serving, and clean-up. If you would enjoy helping for all or part of this event, please contact Katherine Hubbard.

We also need donations of small fresh flower arrangements for table centerpieces.  These can be flowers from your own garden. Please email Kim Lewis if you can help with this.
