It is with sadness that we announce that Tammy Richelieu, First Presbyterian's Director of Children's Ministry, will be leaving our church as of mid-May. Tammy's husband, J.R., is on active duty with the Army and will be stationed in Hawaii beginning in June.
Tammy came to FPC in November 2006 and implemented many new wonderful programs for our children during these eight years. Her philosophy of growing compassionate children blossomed into many innovative programs, including:
- A workshop rotation model for Sunday School
- Funtastic First Fridays: a monthly fellowship gathering for 1st - 3rd graders combining a sense of church with a sense of fun
- FaithGirlz: a monthly book club for 3rd - 5th grade girls, giving them the opportunity to talk about faith and real-life issues
- Club 4-5: a twice-a-month group for 4th and 5th graders that evolved into a service group implementing Jesus' commandment of learning to love your neighbor
- Quarterly baptism classes with the church pastors for new parents
Tammy's last Sunday with us will be May 17 and on that day, we will have a reception in her honor after the 11 am worship service. Please join us to say thank you. If you would like to contribute to a farewell gift, you may send a check to the church office, attention Terrie Sears, and label it "Tammy's gift." If you would like to write a personal note of thanks (little ones may draw a picture!), a special collection box created by our children in grades 2 and 3 will be in the library for that purpose.
We will miss Tammy, J.R., Clay, Ashton and Tyrel, and wish them well as they start this exciting new chapter in their lives.

An incredible afternoon recital was then presented by Dmitri Shteinberg, shown below on the right, next to our piano rebuilder, Alexander Brusilovsky.
