Cedar Village E-News
April 26, 2013
Greetings!

More than 150 people gathered this week to celebrate National Volunteer Week and to recognize the wonderful volunteers who give their time, talent and treasure for the benefit of Cedar Village and our residents.  Volunteers play a vital role at Cedar Village--they enhance the care that we provide; they offer additional programs and services; they make life better both for our residents and for our staff.  We could not do what we do without them!  Here are just some of the ways in which volunteers play a role at Cedar Village--they run the Cedar Village Gift Shop (which is one of the loveliest gift shops anywhere) and do everything from buying to stocking to sales.  They provide monthly birthday parties and Bingo events that brighten people's days.  They work in the Deli or volunteer on a committee for special events.  They transport folks to programs and activities, visit patients and even make pillows and soft wraps for our hospice patients.  The hours that our volunteers log are amazing and the warmth, caring and commitment that they bring to Cedar Village is second to none.  If you know one of our volunteers, please thank them for all that they do and if you want to become one of these very special folks, contact Kim Ellerhorst, kellerhorst@cedarvillage.org, and she will help you get connected!

Speaking of volunteers, two more items of note--the Friends of Cedar Village Monte Carlo event is this coming Sunday afternoon.  It's always a lively event and a great way to have some fun with our residents and volunteers.  Love to have you join us!  And Eight over Eighty is right around the corner!  On this special evening, we salute individuals over the age of 80 whose volunteer efforts have made, and continue to make, important contributions to our community.  For more information and to reserve your tickets today, please contact Sally Korkin, skorkin@cedarvillage.org.  Hope to see you there--

All the best,
